voice loss

I would love some suggestions from this wise list about what's going on

for me at the moment. I have some ideas, but I bet you have better ones!

Two weeks ago I resigned from my job and launched myself into the

unknown to attempt a hugely exciting but scary project. It's a new idea

that - if it works - will make me quite high profile. If it doesn't work

it will only be because I fail to make it happen, and that will be a

high profile failure. I've failed before ....

Still, it's exciting, and everyone is really enthusiastic, offering lots

of help and support at high level, which is wonderful (but also scary

because it's still down to ME to make it happen...)

Then on Wednesday last week I get a cough and a fever; no head cold, no

chesty thing. The fever lasts till Saturday, the cough doesn't change

it's nature, and on Friday I lose my voice. It's still lost - at least

very husky and fading in and out. I feel fine now, but still cough and

have no voice, after more than a week.

Everyone is now giving me lots of sympathy becasue I sound dreadful,

even though I feel absolutely fine, and am quite enjoying all the

sympathy! But I'm getting bored of having no voice - it's quite hard

work talking for more than a few moments, and I have a lot of meetings

with people to present my idea and ask for support.

Now, it could just be a cough, or bronchitis, or whatever. There's a lot

of illness about in the UK just now. But .... the timing and the nature

of the lurgy make me wonder if there's something else to look at.

Any ideas, intuition, perceptions, and wild guesses will be much

appreciated!

gratefully

Arabella

I had something similar several yrs ago. I think it was a virus, I learned

something interesting though. The doctor I went to see told me it is as much

a strain on your vocal cords to whisper as it is to yell. so just write

notes or something :)

Seriously other than resting your vocal cords and soothing warm liquids, I

don't know what else you could do.

Get well soon

Okay Arabella - No one, but no one, can interpret what's happening to you

better than you. So....what is your body telling you?

.... and on Friday I lose my voice. It's still lost - at

Arabelle,

Just my inexperience ...

Maybe your anxiety and nervousness have made you *think*

that you do not " deserve " this high profile experience in

your life. Could it be only your nerves keeping you from

your goal, and possibly not the Universe?

Louise Hay says something about health issues associated

with the throat in her book " You can heal your life " : I

can't remember exactly but I am quite sure she says that

the throat depicts our ability to " speak up " for ourselves

and any problems or illness relating to the throat shows us

that we may " feel " that we don't have the strength or

freedom or right to do this.

So, somehow, overcoming this " fear " or " negative thought "

may assist in your success - within your heart, your mind

and to all that are touched by you ...

Hope this helps.

In peace,

S.
