Guest guest
Suggestion: 1) Change the name from Reiki to something else, anything else. 2) Carefully analyze what needs to happen to be successful in the presentation. 3) Consider offering to demonstrate attunements on the committee members? (just Kidding, just Kidding...) 4) do the presentation again as a new modality Take Care, Jim Snow Paramedic, Reiki Master Canada
Guest guest
I have also heard that in some states, when one is an ordained minister, " hands on " such as massage and reiki is legal without the " licenses " . While allowing the freedom of performing these kinds of healing modalities would be the most preferencial, in the interim, ordination may be a way to keep the healing flowing. Guest guest
Francie: Not in Florida. They vanquished that loophole a long time ago there for Reiki and other lay healers. Only if you are doing Reiki as a sacrament of your church, for donation, with no advertising or direct compensation, are you allowed to continue. If a person is not doing it through an established church they can set up their own after being ordained, but at this time even that is precarious, since the board has determined that they can make money from Reiki through limiting access for education and practice to people they control, at least to a degree, by prohibiting advertising and direct compensation unless you are a Massage Therapist. Many Reiki people have had to go to school to be MTs in Florida, and as they give in and do so, the board wins, the national certification board wins, the schools win, and the practitioners are caught in a perpetual loop of arbitrary standards, relicensure and recertification requirements (the boards and the schools win again). In FL, not only do you have to be an MT, in order to license the written part of the exam is the NCE. I've been on a bodyworker's list for about four years now and it has been interesting to see how the noose gets tighter and tighter on practitioners in Florida, while in other states, such as Minnesota, reason is finding its way. We can help best by being willing to speak out about wrongs and sending the activists a lot of energy and prayers for support. Guest guest
Thanks Jim, That is exactly what the State Attorney General's Office recommended. If we call it something else and don't touch the client then it doesn't come under the jurisdiction of the BOM. Guest guest
Yes Francine, This is possible, but only if you don't charge for the session. If you recieve compensation for the healing then the seperation of Church and State doesn't apply. Here's the idiocy of what they say; If you hug soemone, there is a transfer of energy, and there is compression of tissue from the hug and possible tapotment - slapping the back. If the person returns the hug, then you've recieved compensation. Where will they draw the line? , " Francie Smart " <francies2> wrote: > I have also heard that in some states, when one is an ordained > minister, " hands on " such as massage and reiki is legal without > the " licenses " .
