Thank you Crow for the links.

I have been searching through a lot of information re heavy metal

poisoning and have a site which has an amazing number of links to good

reference material.

http://www.harmonology.com.au/

Follow the links to health and healing and to " more info "

on heavy metals. The info on free radicals is also valuable.

The site also has links to information about chelation therapy, something

the friend with mercury poisoning might need to consider.

I believe the body has a remarkable ability to self heal. It's the

influences from external conditions that make or break the body yet all

healing takes place within the body. It makes sense to me if we are looking

at healing to ensure the body pH balance is at optimum state.

All foods when consumed create a alkaline or acid reaction in the body.

So does breathing during the conversion of oxygen to carbon dioxide. In

fact everything we absorb into the body has a pH effect. In a busy and

unhealthy environment, stress, poor diet, toxins and dis ease contribute to

acid production in the metabolism. (Some links to info listed below)

I wonder how many know or monitor their pH balance?

Remember in a range of 1-14, pure water has a pH 7. Opinions differ

slightly about the optimum human healthy range. I have seen " normal "

variously stated as somewhere between 6.3 and 7.4. Yet maybe that range

includes the extremes at which the body functions without major ill health.

I have a simple recipe from an Allergy clinic for an alkalising solution

to redress the over acid body fluids during an allergic reaction. I'll

send to anyone interested. Its good chelation for anyone with toxic

overload from any source like heavy metals as well. I do believe to

maintain an optimum pH balance requires care for a alkalising solution,

such as is used for stomach ulcers or indigestion, may be used to excess

and tip the scales and cause other problems.

I do recommend self testing. If you can't get hold of anything else get a

bottle of the solution from your pet shop that is used for fish tanks and

a couple of drops of urine or saliva and a drop of the solution you can get

a pH reading according to the colours produced.

I can send links I found there to more info re acid /alkaline balance if

anyone is interested.

Has anyone doing Reiki ever tested the acid/ alkaline balance before and

after the therapy?

Repeated results carried out by a number of therapists under a set criteria

maybe could indicate something actually happening to the body that is

easily monitored.

Cheers

Liz

This page explains about the pH of blood - a good starting place

if you don't know much about the acid/alkaline debate. Part way

down the page is al ink to a list of foods that are

acid/alkaline
