Guest guest
Hey Good Group, Heard a radio program today, part of it was discussion about colostrum. Does anyone have experience with this apparently wonderfull, top 'o the heap supplement. Made perfect sense as to being the original perfect food, the first nutrient and protector and builder we ingest. The man, Doug Wyatt, was talking mostly about his company's product (out of NZ) and his wife's dramatic testimonial. The benefits are numerous and seems to represent the 'bottom line platform for mammal- specific needs and he even says it has more for us than (plant) phytonutrients.... Guest guest
The Colostrum is from cows, not humans. The info always sounds great however there are some things about it that make me wonder. For instance: raising a calf takes very different nutrition than nourishing a human. Also, the parts of colostrum that are for the immune system are only able to be absorbed by a baby for the first short time after birth. ( I can't remember if it's 24 hours or what) After that the lining of the digestive tract changes and it doesn't help the immune system supposedly to feed it. That is why one must get colostrum into a newborn as soon as possible. I'd write a little more but there's an electrical storm and I need to turn my computer off. winter blessings, Kathrin
Guest guest
Dear Fred, Colostrum is produced by the mother for a day or so after the birth of the child. Then breast milk comes in. My question is where do they find a supply vast enough to serve the public? Sounds a little suspicious, but what do I know? blessings, cynthia
Guest guest
It is available also fom the milk of just freshend cows. One of it's benefits come from good intestinal bacteria so to be effective it CANNOT be pasturized as this would kill the good bacteria. Or for a much less costly way of getting healful flora just use acidophilus/bifidus capsules or BioK+ [bio kay plus]. rusty cjohnson <cjohnson Sunday, December 17, 2000 5:15 AM Re: Leche de Mamacita >Dear Fred, >Colostrum is produced by the mother for a day or so after the birth of the >child.
