The problem with colostrum is that it's freeze dried which doesn't kill bacteria and this leaves questions about brucellosis, coccidiosis, salmonella, mastitis and leptospirosis hardjo and leptospirosis Pomona or (red water), black leg and pulpy kidney being passed on. People with a compromised immune system have died from Salmonella poisoning and these are the very people who are likely to take this. Leptospirosis may be involved is some Chronic Fatigue Syndrome cases. What bacterial analysis has been carried out? Do we trust big business to protect the people? Since analysis varies from cow to cow every single batch would have to be tested. How do you get that when a chain from farmer to farmer producer goes into a common pool before analysis? The hard sell is sure on with a soft shuffle to start with yet some of the most illustrious authorities on the product have been involved in questionable research in the past so I would want quality assurance eg bacterial analysis. from independent laboratory. See www.masmith.spirit.com.au/docs/mannatec.htm for information about Dr Darryl See and previous records with questionable research. at article " AMBROTOSE AND BEYOND: Dr Darryl See and Mannatech " I also understand that Dr See is not just on the staff of Jeunesse Inc , aka Institute of Longevity Studies which is used to authorise the efficacy of colostrum or tranfer factor , but is actually " Director and founder " . I am not saying the product might not have beneficial effect. In fact its very good and is the original perfect food for the new born calf. However I want much more quality assurance myself before I take a pure product from cattle.
