So what to do? Clean up the diet if you haven't already...cut down or out on meat and dairy products...too many " added " hormones for my liking. More fresh foods and increase water intake. Castor oil packs and or a hot water bottle placed over abdomen/uterus can be helpful. Then of course herbal supplementation. I make up a female herbal formula, and you are more than welcome to contact me, however, these are ta few of the herbs I suggest...Chastetree berry, wild yam, black cohosh, dong quai (angelica sinensis), I also recommend Red raspberry tea daily...nice source of iron/calcium ...gentle. I also adress the possibility of chronic constipation...always adds to the problem. These are only suggestions, but you can expect results..although the time frame varies for each person. Also can try rubbing some cinnamon leaf essential oil on abdomen...for pain...(hot)... Hope this helps!! Katy Master Herbalist
Guest guest
I agree with Katy that the underlying causes of severe menstrual cramps can be many. I think detoxing the liver is a great first step because if the liver is stressed it can't detoc/neutralize the excess hormones that the body produces. I also like the idea of trying Maca herb to see if that balancing of the endocrine system would help matters any. I would also do an herbal parasite cleanse. If these didn't work I'd move onto the next level. I also like Katy's diet suggestions. -Kathrin
