Guest guest
Very interesting article about the sun. I have been drawing energy from the sun for about five years, now, but not the way this article suggests. I'm going to try it, however! What I do is face the morning sun with my eyes half or all the way closed, tune in, and breathe deeply, imaging myself sucking in sun energy. When I do, I feel little needlepoints like laser beams shooting in and penetrating different parts of my body. They seem to go right where they are needed. I often shiver deliciously with the zing of it. It comes to mind that the ancient Mayans were a sun culture. Seems like I heard once that they, also, fueled themselves with the sun. They certainly created enough symbols for it, as well as locations where that sort of absorbtion could be done. Anyone know? Susette

A basic biochemical thing happens when the full spectrum sunlight enter the eyes in the morning and this also happens for most sightless persons [blind]. This thing influences our experience of life. The sunlight on the shuts down the body's production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. Melatonin holds back the production of seratonin, the relaxed/feel good/aware hormone. So by shutting down the melatonin the body is able to secrete seratonin. The opposite happens at bedtime. It is essential for the eyes to be darkend so the body can produce melatonin and have a good sleep cycle. You can sleep in the light but it's not as restful or as restorative. Many of these experiences we get from the energy of the sun can be explained by these physical responses, but there are more that are still in the area of the unknown and probably much in the realm of the unknowable. We are exposed to a wide spectrum of vibrations and the sunlight is merely part of that spectrum, however powerful. The vibrations in the sound frequencies can also have mystical, magical effects and the vibrations that are not picked up by our 5 main senses may also have powerful effects on the body/mind/spirit. I use an audio alpha wave rhythm on my mediation programs to help elicit brain waves that increase the learning and enlightening state. Others induce this state by using the same rhythm on the eyes, like when that strobe light ~zonks~ you on the dance floor. Also, Susette, notice that the Mayans, like the ancient Egyptians, also Sun worshipers, resided very near the equator. Intereseting.
