Guest guest
Dear Cynthia, It sounds like you've checked out a lot of things. The fact that both dogs have some of the same symptoms makes me think of environtmental factors. Do you have a carpet? Do you use a particular rug or floor cleaner? Do you use a fabric softener that ends up on their bedding? Is there any seasonal difference that gives a clue when you realize that they are inside or outside more at certain times of the year? Has your water been tested? What about diet? And do they get some minerals in a balanced form including trace minerals? Do you live in an area of toxic contamination from industry past or present? I know.....it's a lot of questions but I do want to congratulate you on how many questions you've asked yourself already. It's like playing detective. If it was just the one dog I'd think that there were limitless possibilities but with it being 2 dogs, although to different degrees, it seems to limit it to something that both are exposed to....and less likely that it's a genetic inability to handle or process something in the environment, etc. -Kathrin
Guest guest
Cynthia... See if you can find a vet who does acupuncture. We had a cat that was paralyzed as a result of a trauma to his spinal cord. Traditional vets wanted to put the animal down. A vet who did acupuncture had the cat walking again in four days and back to normal in two weeks. It's worth a try. Because you have two dogs with problems, I'd also look for environmental toxins, something the dogs are eating or something they come in contact with every day. -- --------------------------- Joel P. Guest guest
Hi Cynthia, Have your vet to take a skin scrape'ing of your dog. It sounds like the poor baby has mange. It is a microscopic mite that burrows under the skin & your other animals will catch it. It is very painful & mizerable. I hope this helps. I love animals too & I have 2 dogs,so my heart goes out to them. Excellant Dreams & Health, Linda Help for Dingo > Greetings! I have a six year old dog, part cattle dog, part beagle (we > think).
