Guest guest
Thank you Susette - I loved being there. I found myself particularly in my element. There is such a great need there for complementary medicine training. There is here in the States as well but there the techniques I demonstrated were more than openly accepted. I am thrilled almost everyday with receiving emails from the Doctor that wrote the report to the Ministry of Health. We have a huge language barrier and many times cannot translate each other's mails but I have been writing on treatment protocols and he has been having fantastic results with his patients and family. I would go back in a heartbeat. In fact I am setting up a nonprofit to do so - not just to Peru but to go where there is need from the top of Canada to the base of Chile. There is so much knowledge to share and those in rural areas are open to learning new techniques. I invite all of you to sign up for the PAWHA (Pan American Whole Health Alliance) newsletter by going to the site. www.pawha.org One of the Board of Directors is a Reiki Master. I hope to bring reiki training throughout the western hemisphere as well. One project at a time. As my background is Oriental Medicine and not Reiki I need to start there. This is a whole life mission and vision. Sometimes I feel here I am beating my head up against the wall trying to get people to get to my seminars that I do for profit. The ones on Being Young or Slim always do well. The ones on health often cancel due to lack of enrollment to cover my fee. Most Americans would rather take a Tylenol which affects the liver adversely if used too much rather than learn to press an acu-point. In poorer areas there is no Tylenol and not only are complementary medicine skills wanted they are downright needed. I am trying to set up a way for all that would like to make a difference to be able to do so - we only have one shot on this planet (at least that we know of during that time), we can make a real impact. And " now " you ask - I miss the 95 degree weather of the Amazon - it was snowing today and I have cabin fever. BTW - I am available to speak to groups including children. Guest guest
Ciao Boy when you say that a person would rather take a tylenol. I understand completely what you are saying. I have been studing nutrion, reiki , aromatherapy, herbology and EFT for the past 6yrs. I work in psychiatric rehabilitation and people do not want to change their diets or try aromatherapy or any kind of complimentary medicine. They would rather just pop a pill. I have been very interested in oriental medicine and have read some things about it. studing the energy therapies and oriental medicine and EFT has been a great combination . I would love to hear more about it. Cathy Mcv1052
Guest guest
Not exactly. I too am a post-graduate Masters Level therapist. From my experience -- most of the people I know have switched to herbals, OTC's and if they have to back to older, more tried and true meds. Why....in the even something major happens there is something to use that will work. Twenty years ago a good friend was on the experimental drugs we use over the counter or we can now get without hassle from Docs. It taught me a lesson. When my asthma is out of control I do not grab for Claritin -- it barely works for 6 hours on me -- I use reiki and if I am forced to it the old Theophylline. I am lucky to have a herbalist here in town I can call to tell me the herbs to use. I came to it late and she keeps me straight on aromatherapy and also herbs. So not all people are looking to pop the latest and greatest medication instead of working to find and relieve the cause of the problem. That is how I found one of my Reiki Master Students -- Four years ago she came to a class and I worked with her privately for several months until she felt able to go into therapy -- I referred and today she is back whole and happy and a full Reiki Master and Huna. More and more are looking into Reiki, Huna, and Shamanic practices to work on problems modern medicine can't or won't address. I can and do refer to practitioners when requests are made.
