Guest guest
I experienced an interesting occurrence early this morning, and would like some input from the listmembers. I awakened about 3AM with a raging headache. I took some migraine medication, hoping to " nuke " it, and went back to bed. I noticed that the dogs were extremely jittery, would not go back to sleep and would not eat (these dogs are *always* hungry!). The migraine medication did not help--first time that this extremely strong drug did completely relieve the headache within an hour. Reiki self-treatment did little. The dogs remained agitated... There was *an earthquake* in our area (NY/NJ--extremely rare) at about 7:30 this morning!!! I've heard of people experiencing " earthquake headaches " (Ninox--did we discuss this phenomena in Australia a few months ago in a private e-mail?), and am wondering if this could possibly be an explanation. The fact that the dogs were acting odd and frightened makes me wonder if this could be an example of Rupert Sheldrake's theories of Morphic Resonance. Looking forward to some feedback and information. Florie
Guest guest
Research in California plots earthquake with a high occurrence of lost pets. Within 24 hours. Quake and unsettled atmospheric conditions can trigger migraines. August of 1999 I started a migraine that lasted five days -- Meds and reiki did not help. I also woke up (about 2:45) with a raging headache; I gulped down some aspirin (a last resort but it was a killer) and gave myself reiki but nothing helped much. It is very unusual not to find almost instant relief after a reiki self-treatment! My dog asked to go outside but started barking when I opened the door, which is also unprecedented. She's not much of a barker usually and the neighborhood was very quiet. I hadn't heard about the earthquake. I live in upstate NY, but spend a lot of time out of doors and consider myself very tuned in to my environment. Could be I was picking up on your earthquake too . How strong was it? Guest guest
Namaste, Reiki Lady, Thanks for your information. Is there any relief for the discomfort from the headaches? Do you know if the severity of the headaches are related to the severity of the quake, or the duration of any aftershocks? Any other physical or other manifestations to look for? Sorry for all the questions, but this is an absolutely new experience. Florie - reikilady1 Wednesday, January 17, 2001 1:24 PM Re: Where's Rupert? Guest guest
Seems to me that I've heard that animals respond to low frequency sounds as pressure builds up between plates. I know that sensitivity to noise is also a feature of migraines. It makes sense that the phenomenon would correlate. >reikilady1 To: > Re: Where's Rupert? Guest guest
It started 9 months of fierce migraines that opened me to channeling. A friend had meteorology (weather) as an undergraduate and explained it to me. The animals can pick up on it and you can take meds sooner and always reiki -- crazier or worse -- increase the reiki, Atmospheric conditions I pick up with migraines -- better than a trick knee especially in Tornado Alley. The usual about no mushrooms or wine etc. Remember I live outside a Field Artillery post (FA school is here). The only time I felt the earth quake here was 3 years ago and I put it down to firing too close to town -- the walls were booging and the secretary was frantic. I usually sleep through tornadoes -- unless the pager goes off and Red Cross has drafted me for Disaster Mental Health or Damage Assessment. My headaches are mostly under control -- ASA -- caffeine -- reiki -- and stay horizontal with eyes closed and a blanket close. Holler the next time and we can set it up together and (square, cube, etc) the energy. @ Namaste The Reiki Lady North Texas and South West Oklahoma ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
