Guest guest
Hi Kathrin, That was a very appropriate response to Caroline. It is easy to lose track of what this list is all about. I, too, was getting confused as I am a new member. I think Caroline was also appropriate to point out the diversion and get us back on the right track. Email is much less threatening than some other forms of communication, isn't it? Celeste
Guest guest
Kathrin: I would like you to bear in mind that you are on the list, and that I prefer an emphasis in this forum on body-mind aspects of dis-ease, dys-function and dis-order. I have been fairly tolerant, I think, of the numerous posts in this forum about herbal medicines and the like, when in fact that is not what this forum is about, and there are plenty of forums out there for that. What this forum originated for (and I should know, since I created the list) was to discuss how our bodies reflect the state of our minds and emotions, and how we can work with that spiritually, emotionally, mentally and energetically to create balance and work towards harmony. That may or may not mean physical wellness, as healing does not mean curing, it means making whole. The concepts may seem " simplistic " , as you put it, but at the root of many disorders is a much simpler concept or issue than most people realize. It is not a pissing contest or a guilt trip... working on our individual issues should be a challenge, not a trial. Remember that pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. I just felt I needed to clarify that, and make it quite clear that although I am generally open minded about the discussions here, it is important for people to realize what the focus of this forum actually is, and that we are not here to diagnose or prescribe for anyone, only to offer assistance and advice from our own experience... and even that is to be taken at each individual's discretion. Thank you very much. Guest guest
Dear Caroline, I am very sorry that my comments didn't seem in line with what this list is about and I think you may have misunderstood a little of what I said. I did not mean to imply that there is not a very strong body/mind connection; I see it all the time in my work.....denying that was not my intention at all. I was merely passing on a thread of discontent with this one person's work..... because I've seen people become discouraged when it doesn't work for them. I in fact believe that part of the reason it might not work for so many is that the body/mind connection is not so easy to nail down to a simple few issues. It is not a one size fits all....it is a wondrous and complex thing and the untangling of that is one of my biggest interests. It was good to read your list intentions because I am not sure I would have known them so clearly without reading them in your post. (yes, I did read the description of the list before I signed up but the reality of the list was a little different and I lost the clarity of it) I would love to hear more on these subjects since that is where my interest lies and why I signed up for this list in the first place. I am sorry if mentioning herbs, etc was out of place....it just seemed that people were asking for that and that was what much of the dialog was about.
