Telling myself with Reiki

Diane Stein's book " Essential Reiki " says you can do just that. Use HSZSN to

tell your child self the things that child needed to hear. She says that with

Reiki there is no time, no space. Has anyone tried this?

Hi Anukki,

 

I've used Reiki on my child self.

 

Some background - it was in the mid 1980's when I started to make a shift

from 17 years of being a mommy/housewife with no sense of self to opening up

to me. I was going to a weekly yoga class and the instructor decided to

have a small group of us get together for a meditation day. In the

afternoon she did a meditation where we were guided to see our 5 year self

and were asked to hug her, hold her and talk to her. I sat there in

meditation totally terrified by this little terribly sad child, and I

absolutely could not allow her to approach me nor could I go near her. I

was so freaked by this that I left the group and never returned.

 

Fast forward to 1992 when Reiki found me - after I took my Reiki II classes,

I remembered that little girl who wanted to be a part of me. So I did

distant healing sessions on my 5 year old self together with my grown-up

self. I really don't remember how many sessions I did, not more than two or

three times. Then I decided to do the meditation again on my own and see if

I could make any connection with my little self. I was amazed that not only

could I allow her to come close to me, but I could hug her, comfort her, and

hold her on my lap and best of all, take her into my heart.

 

Over the years, I've used distant Reiki on all the ages of my life - after

all that's what it's all about - healing the self.

 

I also now realize what an important learning experience the original

mediatation with the yoga instructor was. I've come to know how extremely

important it is to know our limitations when we are working with others on

the mental/emotional level especially with energy work, meditation, etc. and

to know that those 'cans of worms' can so easily be opened.
