Guest guest
Hello everyone, This is a wonderful and helpful site. I recently took my level 1 Reiki and my last experience with Reiki scared me and I'd like to share it with you. I'd like to get some input from people that have more experience than me on the subject. This past thursday, I received a phone call from my sister who lives 8 hours from me and that I don't see very often (maybe once or twice a year). She told me that she really had to see me this past week-end, it was like an intuition. So she arrived friday evening and the next day I decided to give her a Reiki treatment. After the treatment she became very emotional and told me that she saw pictures of me in my mother's coffin (my mom past away 5 years ago) and said that she didn't want to lose me. I was very calmed about it even though it bottered me.After thinking about that, I realized that the day prior to that at work, I received two e-mails from I don't know who that were talking about angels that lives with you forever and the other one was a story about a lady that bought lingerie and was keeping it to wear on a special occasion and after 8 years, her husband decided that it was the perfect occasion and brought it to the funeral home as she had passed away and did not lived everyday fully. Also, I started a course this morning on accident investigation and to my big surprise, there is a guy on my course that I used to work with and haven't seen in 5 years, he attended my mother's funeral. What do you think this all means? I'm getting a little bit worried and need some advice. Thank you for reading me.
Guest guest
My first sense was that there was something you are -not- doing, and that you might be worried that you won't be able to " sing your song " before you die. I don't get a sense that you are going to die or anything, or that any of this was an " omen " ...only a wake-up call that you might be missing a big piece of your calling. Does that make sense? Peace, Karyn

Guest guest
Hello: My, how we go about scaring the bejezus out of ourselves ;-) While I am a firm believer in smelling the roses, living in the moment, etc., I have also been on the Net long enough to have seen those posts you mentioned rotate around at least every six months for the past four years. We can always take significance from things, and in fact, I think that we like to find patterns in things, even when they are uncomfortable or frightening, because there is a sort of security in patterns. It is also hard to tell what is going on with your sister, or why she is dreaming of you in this way. Today I was flipping around the TV dial and found an old episode of " Northern Exposure " on A & E, in which one character, who has lost several lovers, was dreaming that her current object of affection was going to die. There is an aspect of displacement in a dream like that, although it is difficult to say that it is not a premonition. So I will add one more thing, that I read today in " The Gateless Barrier " ... words do not convey the fact; language is not an expedient. Attached to words, your life is lost; blocked by phrases, you are bewildered. Be in the moment, and be peaceful; take what you are offered not as warnings but as indicators to pay attention. The Zen Master Yun Men, quoted in the book above, says that the way of truth that was taught by our ancestors is " Be Careful " ... meaning, be attentive, be aware, be conscious and honor your intuition. If you feel uncomfortable with what is going on, start a journal and by all means do your Self Reiki as you change and expand with your new Attunement. You may want to explore the meaning of the fifth anniversary of your mother's transition for yourself, as well. If things begin to " come up " for you, by all means seek someone you can process them with, like a grief counselor or a support group. Your sister might profit from this as well! Guest guest
Crow... I think your advice to start a journal is very sound, especially in this situation. Journals give us tremendous insight, plus they are an outlet for all our pent-up fears and concerns. Your message reminded ME that I need to spend some time with my own journal- writing Peace, Karyn , " Caroline Abreu " <crow@c...> wrote: > Hello: > > My, how we go about scaring the bejezus out of ourselves ;-) > > While I am a firm believer in smelling the roses, living in the moment,
