Guest guest
Hi everyone, I need help in helping my husband to deal with his stress. It worries me because his father who is now passed away, had his first heart attack around his age(35 years old). His mind is constantly going 100 miles an hour. He puts everybody's needs before his own and sometimes forget to eat or drink water while at work. I've tried doing reiki on him but he is very restless and it takes a long time for him to calm down a bit and for the energy to go through. I showed him how to meditate but he doesn't let go, he's to worried about noises around ect... He really wants to improve his quality of life because he doesn't want to end up like his father. Does anyone have any suggestions for stress? He started painting on sundays and that seemed to help a bit but when the week starts over, he's right back where he was again. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Josee, After reading your email I couldn't help but think how you are mirroring your husband's issue. Where did you pick up that you were responsible for his lessons in life? I really dont think your husband will *get it* until you let go and allow him to pursue his own stress relief. I wonder if you need to deal with your fears and let him go to deal with his. I know this sounds harsh, but I ALWAYS find when I'm trying to control someone else, if I let go and deal with my powerlessness in the situation, then things have a way of sorting themselves out. Guest guest
Greetings Josee, My wife uses two things which really help when she gets out of balance (happens a lot with 7 kids), one is an essential oil blend called Peace and Calming which she diffuses and also applies to her pulse points and around her forehead - the other is a product called Tranquilon (made with Kava Kava). The two of these in combination really have helped to pull her through some really difficult times. She has also used a formula called, " Rescue Remedy " in the past, but the " Peace and Calming " and the " Tranquilon " work much, much better for her. Hope this helps. Or relaxing to music before going to bed? Maybe guided visualization would work better for him than meditation. There are tons of tapes out there. You may want to check out some audio samples at: http://www.healthjourneys.com/ Just some suggestions... Best wishes, MichelleH

Greetings, My apologies of this posts twice (hotmail is not being very cooperative with delivery today so I came to the group site itself to post it again). In the past, my wife has used two different things to aid her in dealing with the challenges of 7 kids - and me :-)! One is an herbal formula called Tranquilon with Kava Kava and the other is an essential oil called " Peace and Calming " which she applies to the the pulse points as well as to her forehead and temples. These two work wonders for her! Hope this helps... Magical thoughts, Jim McPherson P.S. I also use the " rubber band " trigger mechanism for myself as well as a technique called " hand levitation " which seems to work really well when my day gets a little hectic. My eldest daughter swears by " Rescue Remedy " .
Guest guest
Josee... If your husband is the restless type, sitting meditation may not work for him. Has he ever considered Tai Chi or another " moving meditation " ? It would give his mind something to focus on so that he can physically relax. My mother-in-law does Tai Chi (she's 71) and she swears by it. Peace, Karyn http://www.seekerscircle.com
