Splinters

The cactus poultice reminds me of using oatmeal made into a paste and

applied to a splinter to draw it out. This also works really well. I have

also heard of using sugar and soap for the same thing. Perhaps all that is

needed is for some damp substance to be placed over the entry site for a

length of time and the splinter will work its way out because it swells and

can no longer fit into such a tight space where it entered.

Of course one should always consider the cleanliness and appropriateness of

the substance used.
