Guest guest
Anat: You are right about blame; it is not useful or productive for us to blame anyone for the state we are in, especially the people who we love and who love us, but everyone, actually. Blame gives us an excuse to be stubborn and not move from our comfortable rut! :-) That happens even when we blame ourselves, which manifests as feeling guilt. We like to be judgmental, it makes us feel validated for our point of view. It is an egocentric practice, however, when we make a habit of it. To tell you the truth, it is sort of like a fire; does it matter, actually, who set the fire, or what their motivation was? Not really. The fact is the fire happened, and we must deal with its effects in the here and now. So this is how it is for where we are. It is not easy to just " let go " of that pattern of blame, but when we realize it is kind of lazy and selfish to focus on it rather than moving on, we can have a clearer perspective of it. We have our moment with it, then move on. No need to live with it, what a drag! It is possible to release negative programming in ourselves as well; the Silva method was just mentioned yesterday, and there are other methods of meditation and self hypnosis that are helpful for this. One of the most useful tools I've found is simple affirmations, positive, proactive statements that I repeat to myself, print and place in my environment, even wear occasionally. They are like mantras. It may be that you do not believe them at first, and have to repeat them 100,000 times for them to sink into your mind and heart! But eventually the positive will win out, because we long for the light, we long for love... that is what we are born for. In most forms of worship, a person prays that they will be more like their avatar every day; a wonderful aspect of this is that as we explore the possibilities of this, we can begin to see the holiness in ourselves, the ability to forgive, to show compassion, to be generous, to love. Whether the avatar is Jesus, a manifestation of the Buddha, Mohammed, etc. it is all the same. What we desire is to be clear of our attachment to selfish things, but to maintain a consciousness of self as a part of the greater whole, a co-creator in manifestation. Some of the affirmations I like to use every day for my personal work are: I am happy, healthy and whole. I am love, I am loved. I make a difference by being who I am. I also pray: Thank you (*) for allowing me to experience life. I am learning from your example and ask that you assist me to be like you... filled with love, compassion, patience, wisdom and generosity. Help me to be present in the moment and be grateful for my many gifts. Help me to recognize how every being is my teacher and honor your spirit in them. Thank you for being present with me, for walking with me on my path. Amen. I hope this is helpful. I will start reposting the Chakra files again today, and let's see what that brings up for everyone.
