Hi group

I was wondering if andy one knows about any herbal therapuetic

formulas for animals. My friends dog (Maltese) has just been

diagnosed with lymphoma cancer. They say the only thing to do would

be to give the dog prednisone. There are alot of side effects with

this medication and they say it may only extend her life for about 4

more weeks. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Ariel

Hi Ariel:

How old is your friend's dog? Has something happened in the family recently

that might precipitate emotional distress in the dog?

As a holistic approach to this, you might try to find an accupuncturist or

chiropractor who works with animals, or a vet who uses a natural approach

such as naturopathy or homeopathy. There is a good series of books on

accupressure for animals, I have the book and chart for cats by Zidonis &

Soderberg.

I would also encourage you to find someone who does energy work (such as

Healing Touch, Reiki, Polarity, etc.) to assess and balance your friend's

dog; it will support the dog in so many ways, especially if there is pain or

anxiety. It wouldn't hurt for the owners to get some energy work, as well!

Here is a page of books for holistic pet care:

Blessings,

Crow

Yes.. Reiki and Shamballa work very well with pets. My dog had a skin

problem that was resistant to months of antibiotics and unidentifiable by

two local vets and a speciality Veterinary Research hospital. After three

Shamballa treatments (she was my first guinea pig:) - her skin disorder

cleared right up! I recently heard of a cat cured of cancer from Shamballa

as well. Shamballa is similar to Reiki, a type of energy healing.

Shamballa is more intuitive and less reliance on hand positions, which

makes it easier to use on pets. See

http://www.metagifted.org/topics/meta/shamballa/ for more info about

Shamballa. (not really trying to advertise, but usually people ask when I

mention it on a list.)

Also see http://www.wholisticanimal.com/

A friend of mine just introduced this site to me. She's used their

separation anxiety spray with great success.

I grew up with Maltese. I LOVE that breed :) I have a 9 yr old Beagle now.

Love and Light,
