Guest guest
Hi. My name is Lynn and I just joined the list. I live in the beautiful Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania. (Audrey, it's almost as beautiful here as it is in Asheville.) As I've read through the initial messages that I've received there is an immediate connection with kindred spirits. Blessings to each of you. I am not an expert in any holistic modality or the mind and body connection and am here to learn. I'll be glad to contribute from my experiences whenever appropriate. I am fascinated with many holistic modalities and will use them as my form of health care whenever possible. It's just not easy to find the right care givers. I'm asking for some guidance here, and I hope this is not inappropriate for the list. My frustration at the moment has been with me for several years, and that frustration is PMS. It has been worsening since I had a miscarriage at age 40 and I am now 45. That was my only pregnancy. I've tried herbs, a more natural and live diet, chiropractic adjustments, a little bit of work with the chakras, and a lot of reading. Have had a little success with the combination of these, and still feel very out of balance. Last night I was reading an article in the most recent " Natural Health " magazine about a woman who had healed her hip through touch therapy. Her therapist, like a homeopath, wanted to first know everything about her – she wanted to know the whole person. Through the touch therapy she was teaching this woman to heal herself. She used her mind to work in conjunction with her body until it was healed – believing all along that her hip would be healed. Well, I'm thinking that therapy similar to this is what I need for the PMS. The physical aspects of my PMS are not nearly as bad as the mental ones. The natural foods, the soy products, the green leafy vegetables along with the Dong Quai, Raspberry, Blessed Thistle, and the multitude of other herbs I've taken just haven't done the job. I've had a thorough saliva test done only to find that my estrogen level is fine, and my progesterone and testosterone levels are so high that they are literally off the chart. The doctor was stymied, and we don't know what to do from here. I've begun to wonder if this is connected to how I view of my own sexuality or something. I've read Louise Hay's book, " You Can Heal Yourself " , a few times, and this leads me in the right direction. But I was wondering if there are professional coaches out there, or what type of natural health care practictioner I should look for, or another book that you all could recommend. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you all may have. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lynn C. Guest guest
hello Lynn do you have cravings for carbohydrates before the period? you mentioned soy products. indeed a lack of calcium may worsen the pms syndrome mentally & phisically, but i've heard about many clinical researches wich put soy out of the question. they claim that soy shrinks the brain ,,, if you are interested i can send you the full reports or send their urls. about pregnaNCY I DO BELIEVE that vivid visualisation is one of the keys that might help. wishing you all the best Anat
Guest guest
Hi Anat, I would like to have the information you have on Soy and the urls, I belong to a list of people trying to heal their kids with the Prader-Willi Syndrome holistically and they use a lot of soy. It has been something I have stayed away from just because of my own intuition and would love to have information on it. Thanks so much!!!! Have a Great Day Debbie
Guest guest
Hello Lynn, I am new to this list as well and mostly listen. I am fairly new to the spiritual healing but my intuition and healing abilities are increasing. With the healing I have done, I believe there is a need to release the pain this miscarriage caused your body, and to heal the emotions that your body is holding onto. The PMS is your body crying out for help. When something like that happens it attaches itself to the body and causes other problems as a sign telling you, you need to heal this. Most people tend to ignore the signs and just try to cure the symptoms. I believe you need to figure out where it is in your body and release it. Things tend to happen in this life time as they have in others if they haven't been released and healed from the body. You also need to learn your lessons as you release this. I believe in colors and healing of the charkas, and the color orange is for the second chakra. You can also use the energy from stones, an orange one, forgive me, I don't remember the name of the one I use...te he he....and it is in my room where my hubby is sleeping, I am up way too late on the computer here and I can't go in there, but wanted to respond to your post. Have a Great Day! Debbie " Participating fully in the life we have.... Opens doors to the Life we can have "
Guest guest
Lynn... A Healing Touch or Therapeutic Touch practitioner or perhaps a Reiki practioner can do a chakra balance on you and teach you how to do a chakra self-balance. I suspect that you will find that helpful. -- --------------------------- Joel P. Guest guest
Dear Lynn: I'm new here to, but I'd like to help if I can in the form of a few suggestions. Now, please know, I'm not a doctor, but I am a nurse, and have worked in alternatives for about 10 yeas. What I heard from your letter is that your greatest problem with your PMS is the mental problems. From what I've learned, this most frequently comes from swelling or fluid build up in the brain. Just like our ankles swell so to do our brains. Thats why natural diuretics can really help. When the brain swells it can make for mood swings. Asperagus is a great natural diuretic as well as cornsilk, and many herb teas. In another article I read, for people with extreme clinically diagnosed mood swings from PMS, they have given them Lithium. Now this makes sense, as Lithium is a salt and can change how the body holds fluids. They've had alot of success with it. But Lithium is a pretty harsh drug for minor problems. But there is a product out there called " Trace Minerals " , by a company of the same name " Trace Minerals " . In it is many minerals in minute forms that just aren't present in our water systems. One of the minerals is Lithium. But only in tiny amounts. Yet it would seem that those tiny amounts are enough for many people. I've seen alot of clients in my store get results from this product for PMS. Trace Minerals even has a blend for PMS with the trace minerals in it. Call around at your health food stores for it. Or perhaps you cantact the company directly. This is just a sugggestion. Does anyone out there have any other opinions on trace minerals? Good luck to you, I know your going through a rough time to be reaching out this way. love, connie www.whateverworkswellness.com P.S. If you have trouble finding it nearby, or from the Company, just email me and I can help you. > > Hi. My name is Lynn and I just joined the list. Guest guest
Hi Lynn. I use Evening Primrose Oil... 1300 mg a day for my PMS, and it is GONE!!! I also use progesterone cream 3 weeks out of the month. I just started this routine 2 months ago, and it's made a tremendous difference in my life. My last period I breezed right through what normally would have been ugly PMS symptoms, cramps, etc... with no symptons at all. I even had to stop and realize that I DIDN'T have any PMS!! I've also noticed that over-all, I seem to be thinking clearer, and not so emotionally up and down. I don't feel like my feelings are deadened by any means, but more that I am able to handle them on a different level, and not be ruled by them. Hope this helps. Namaste, Becky...
