Guest guest
Hi There: Welcome to all the newbies, and thanks for posting :-) Connie, you gave me pause when I first saw your email, my neice's email is " im_tink " <LOL> I suppose you like Tinkerbell, too? We have done a lot of talking about fear, and I think that is something we will always do a lot of talking about, since fear lies underneath a lot of our other emotional issues with things. I'm glad to hear the perspectives of people who have " come out the other side " of disorders that have been considered degenerative or even terminal, because they certainly have something of value in their " being " to share with others. I agree with you, that our minds hold the reins to our body function... a fixed false idea, stagnant issue or sudden emotional shift (like shock or loss) is often the kind of thing I find in my energy work clients that motivates at least the perpetuation of their disorders, if it wasn't the cause of them in the first place. The name of your business... " whatever works " ... is wonderfully valid; I've yet to see a single approach that was the magic bullet for everyone, though there are certain techniques that can be useful for everyone (like humor!) That's one reason I like to encourage people to research and explore various modalities with the guidance of trained people to see what resonates, what " fits " for them. You can't run a marathon wearing somebody else's shoes. I'm glad that my posts from yesterday were interpreted appropriately, as I know it can be difficult to express meaning through words without the added cues of inflection and facial expression. Blessings, Crow " Look for Rainbows in the Darkness " PS: Just for the record, I usually respond to posts as " Crow " and reserve " Caroline " for the SWMBO posts... and they will always have [ADMIN] in the subject line. It may seem a little dissociative (well, it is) but it was the best way I could think of to be able to moderate as well as participate in the forum. It is not always an easy line to walk. Guest guest
Dear Crow: That is too funny. Another tink with the im. Yes, I'm a great tinkerbell fan. In Peterpan, she was the true hero. She's archtypical for me. LOL but I also enjoy the tink-im as in I tink therefor I am. Send greatings to your niece for me, and tell her that toys r us is running a special on the Christmas Tinkerbell doll (smaller than barbie size) for $9.95, was originally over $20.00. To us Tink fans, this is big news. :-) Sometimes it is the little things like humor and delight, that are common to all people in healing. love, connie > Caroline Abreu <carocrow > > Mon, 23 Apr 2001 08:10:54 -0400 > > Re: Our Focus > > > Connie, you gave me pause when I first saw your email, my neice's email is > " im_tink " <LOL> I suppose you like Tinkerbell, too? Guest guest
Audrey: I started this list because I wanted/needed a place to discuss the bodymind connection in a broader scope with others who were interested in the same approach to healing and wellness. On a personal level I have found that self examination and forgiveness has provided me with a lot of emotional freedom and has helped me improve my health and personal relationships. It is not the only thing, but it can be one of the biggest things, to find the root cause of a problem and deal with it. If you think of yourself like a plant, in order to grow well you not only have to pay attention to the right soil, water, light, fertilizer and removal of pests and blight... you also have to make sure you don't become " root bound " . If you ignore or cut off the roots, none of the rest of your wonderful gardening will matter much! The quote I use occasionally from Martha Washington says it better than I can: " The greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions, and not on our circumstances. We carry the seeds of the one or the other about with us in our minds wherever we go. " ~ Martha Washington (1732 - 1802) Thanks again, Crow
Guest guest
Hi Again, Connie: I see that you have a list at called " Whatever Works Wellness " WhateverWorksWellness and I am pleased to see that just when I have my little rant, someone has come along with a venue for alternative health discussion right in our midst. You already have 52 members, which is a good start for a young list! Hope some other folks check it out and we can support each other's discussions in a good way! Guest guest
Dear Crow: Thanks so much, I'm thrilled that you checked it out. I hope to learn alot about how to do this from this group, as I think its one of the best. We're a young group, and folks are just starting to post ideas of any length, I can't wait untill its more conversational and personal as I think real value comes that way. Thanks again. love, connie > Caroline Abreu <carocrow > > Mon, 23 Apr 2001 13:14:11 -0400 > > Re: Re: Our Focus > > Hi Again, Connie: > > I see that you have a list at called " Whatever Works Wellness " > WhateverWorksWellness and I am pleased to see > that > just when I have my little rant, someone has come along with a venue for > alternative health discussion right in our midst. > > You already have 52 members, which is a good start for a young list!
