Hello there...

My aromatherapist gave me this recipe and said I could pass it around. I

can personally attest that it is wonderful... I made some two days ago and

left it in my hair while I worked in the garden. I washed it out that

evening having had it in my hair all day, and couldn't be more pleased! You

can leave it on overnight rather than all day if you wish, but I chose to

leave it in during the day as I really don't fancy going to bed with oil in

my hair!

Best wishes,

Anne-Louise.

Hair Conditioner

50 ml. of jojoba oil

+5% Evening Primrose Oil

+ 5 drops of Roman Chamomile

+ 3 drops of Bergamot

+ 3 drops of Lavender (optional)

Put ingredients in a blending bottle and shake well. Massage into the scalp

and hair. Leave the conditioner on all day, or apply in the evening leaving

on all night (be sure and put a towel over your pillow if you take the

evening option!). Wash off with neat shampoo (i.e. just put the shampoo

straight onto your hair... don't bother trying to get it wet. The water

will just roll right off the oil). Continue to wash as usual.

You can use this conditioner once a week or as needed.

Anne-Louise:

Since my husband carted home a gallon jug of jojoba oil from the massage

conference last month, I'm looking forward to trying this out, especially now

that

it's getting to be " out in the sun and wind " season.

Thanks,

Crow

Hey there...

I hope you like it. I think it would make a good massage blend as well as a

hair conditioner. The scent is heavenly!

Crow,

Be careful with bergamot on the skin cause it can make you

photosensitive if you are out and about in the sun.

Thanks, Michelle.

I do a lot of experimenting on surfaces before I'll put something on me, even in

a

carrier oil... because I have seen what EOs can do to harder surfaces than my

hide

;-) The bergamot makes sense, with the sunlight caution, I'll probably leave it

out. I think I'd be happy with the chamomile and lavender; the jojoba oil

itself

is an excellent moisturizer for dry skin, it soaks right in.

Here I go, off topic. But I'm sure a lot of you want to try that hair

conditioner

Hello...

I think I may be guilty of putting something on the list that may not

exactly be " on topic " again. I know that hair conditioner/aromatherapy

stuff isn't really what this list is about, but I thought it was such a

wonderful recipe and it had worked so well for me... I couldn't help but

share it. And I thought it was in neutral enough territory that I wouldn't

ruffle feathers this time as well... =)

Patchouli is another oil that is quite good in the hair... but it has an

earthy scent that you either like or you don't.

Take it easy ya'll...

Anat...

There are several blends for skin that I can recommend for you. As you've

mentioned wrinkles, I will give blends that adddress possible causes. I use

jojoba as my base oil... but you may use what you like.

For Aging Skin:

3 drops of frankincense

4 drops of rose

3 drops of clary sage

For Chapped Skin:

4 drops of rose

3 drops of chamomile

3 drops of sandalwood

For Wrinkles:

2 drops of patchouli

3 drops of lemon

5 drops of rose

For Sunburn:

3 drops of sandalwood

3 drops of lavender

4 drops of chamomile

There are a few oils in these blends that you might need to be cautious of

for various reasons. These include:

Rose: Do not use rose during the first three months of pregnancy and NOT AT

ALL if there is a history of miscarriage.

Roman Chamomile: Do not use in the first three months of pregnancy. It can

cause dermititis in some people. There is no known risk of toxicity.

Lemon: Can irritate sensitive skin. Do NOT use before sunbathing. Use

only very diluted in massage and bath blends, and not use for more than a

few days at a time.

Clary Sage: Do not use if you are pregnant. Do not use when drinking

alcohol as it can make you drunk, drowsy, and can cause nightmares.

Lavender: Usually safe for all age groups, but some hay fever or asthma

sufferers may be allergic.

I hope you find some of the blends helpful! Although I know of blends for

conditioning hair and for treating scalp problems, I don't believe there is

a blend that would deter grey hair.

Cheers...
