I think that we create a lot MORE of our reality than the average person would ever dream we do. But there's an interesting way to look at " we " . <g> I believe that " we " involves both Earthly selves and our higher selves. I'll provide an example of that. Bear with me; it takes a bit of background to reach the point of the story. About four weeks ago a friend of the family invited my wife and I to his inauguration as vice president of the student senate of an area educational institution. I put the date on my pocket calendar. The day came, but we didn't have the place/time information. So my wife called their house to find out; nobody home. So she left a message on the machine. I called the school, and they gave me the time/place [3:00 PM]. We left a little early to allow time for finding a place to park and finding a room we'd never been to before on campus. We got to the room with plenty of time to spare. Some guys were setting up chairs. We told them we were there for the inauguration. " That will begin at 4:00 PM they told us. " Just outside the room, we were considering what to do/where to explore on campus, when a young man just " happened " to come up to us. " Can I help you? " We told him our situation. " Oh, they're wrong; the event WILL start at 3:00 PM " So we sat down in two chairs of four chairs which all faced an ottoman in the middle. Soon a gentleman and young lady came by and asked if the other two chairs were spoken for. We invited them to sit in the remaining two chairs. To make an already long story shorter it appears that this couple was MEANT to come into our lives! We had a fascinating conversation. The odds that a random couple with their interests and personality profile would happen to sit down with us are very slim. Just before we were ready to enter the room where the inaugurations would take place, our student friend came along and apologized. He had LOST the election, but hadn't gotten back to us to tell us that. So we no longer had an " official " reason to be there. I feel certain that our REAL reason to be there was to meet this couple ... that it was all arranged at a higher level. When we got back home, our daughter told us that our candidate friend's wife had called shortly AFTER we had left to tell us that he had lost the election. Consider all the circumstances that had to fall into place for us to meet this couple: * We get the invitation to attend the inauguration. * We decide to attend out of friendship. * Nobody was home when we called to ask about time/room. * Our phone call was not returned until AFTER we had left for the event. * We arrived earlier than we had expected to arrive, so there was time to chat. * We didn't immediately leave the area when the people setting up the chairs told us that the event would start at 4:00 PM. * There was a nice young man who PROACTIVELY approached us to tell us the correct time was 3:00 PM, not 4:00 PM. * We sat down where there were two extra chairs, all in a square formation. * The couple also got there a little early and chose to sit down with us. I consider that one new age mantra is " There are no coincidences " . I believe the above story is an example of that. We chatted about a number of interesting subjects. The man told us about a fascinating rock garden in Florida, where its creator [who weighed about 100 pounds] BY HIMSELF [no machinery] moved rocks weighing several tons! When we got home I started an Internet search to learn more. Here's a URL I found. Talk about an engaging MYSTERY! http://www.netcolony.com/pets/agilitynut/coralcastle.html Well, that's my story. I hope you found it interesting. Rich Putman in Minnesota USA Sign outside a Muffler Shop: " No appointment necessary. We'll hear you coming. Guest guest
rich I loved your story. I think that almost everyone has such miracle stories in which he feels: " i'm in a movie... " I think the universe sends hints to anyone who is open enough to accept them,,, to people who seek a deeper awareness... I noticed that in times when i am more " aware " more " awaken " and when my life become more intense and when my desires are burning in the bones- i experience more amazing synchronities in life. it's a great feeling to now that " every thing is under control and that you have a strong contact with the creATOR " . in a way you feel protected and safe... you just have to think the right thoughts in order to invite positive energies to your life, in your case , you acted out of true kindness,,, you wrote that you attended the event out of friendship.... so you invited new kind friends to your life. i too think that we have 99% influence over our lives and that nothing is impossible. Guest guest
Rich: I'm a great believer in synchronicity. I love to watch the programs " Beyond Chance " and " It's A Miracle " because they are full of examples of human awareness of times when being in the right place at the right time has profound and unexpected results. It's synchronicity that supports my beliefs in precognition and intuition in general, as well as some aspects of predestination in our life patterns. I watched a series of programs on PBS yesterday, including one called " The Return of Navajo Boy " . In the 1950s on a Navajo reservation in Arizona, there was excessive radium mining, which resulted in the illness and death of many people from radiation exposure. One woman who died had an infant, and American social services took the child from his family, promising to bring him back when he was school aged, but they didn't... he was raised by a white foster family and lost his culture. Go forward a bit; in an earlier part of the century, a white man felt an urge to make a short film recording a story of traditional Navajo lifeways; it was left to his son, who decided to return to the pueblo and discover more information about it, since his father had died without telling him much about it. There was great celebration when the people saw the film, and recognized themselves as children and their old people who had gone on. The return of " The Navajo Boy " became an item of public interest, and an article was printed in the paper, including the names of the people in the film. In New Mexico, the " lost boy " read about the film, recognized his grandparents' names, and the celebration became an even more profound reason for rejoicing, as he found his family and returned to the Navajo as well. Full circle, a beautiful story of how one man's interest in the Navajo righted a wrong committed to the people he filmed and opened the door to a movement to take a deeper look at the long term effects of the radium mining on the community. Sometimes we don't know why we feel an urge to do something, and we may not live to see the full results, but I do feel that we are inspired every day into actions that pluck the threads of the web. I don't believe there are any coincidences :-) rputman wrote: > I think that we create a lot MORE of our reality than the average person would > ever dream we do.
