Guest guest
Hi Folks: A friend passed this link along to me today, and it gave me something to chew on about the buddhas in our daily life. What do you think about this? How do you deal with anger displayed by others, or the anger you feel yourself? Another thing to think about... when we give, in what spirit are we doing it? Is it from altruism, love, guilt, shame, or out of a feeling of being manipulated/extorted? Do we feel the same way about giving our time/attention as our money to others? http://www.spiritualchicks.com/Kick-Ass_Reading.htm -- Blessings, Crow " Look for Rainbows in the Darkness " --
Guest guest
Interesting reading, Crow.... I suppose there's two things to consider when you encounter people in any situation.....being true to yourself, which to me means treating people as I would want to be treated....(not always easy) and seeing everyone as a teacher, in what way does this person reflect parts of me that I maybe cant accept about myself. Sometimes I find that treating people with kindness can feel like being a doormat, but I have to live with my reactions and behaviours, and I have to feel good about who I am. I've lived in abusive situations and I never got abusive myself to counteract the crap. Its not in my nature...and I suppose I've beaten myself up more over the years for putting up with it.....but now that Im in a loving relationship I feel my nature did attract someone of the same nature, who values kindness just as much as I do. Guest guest
Crow, I want to give out of love... I find that I don't feel good, if I give from any other spot. I also feel better about myself if I can give time/attention (out of a spirit of love of course), then 'just' giving money. My partner, instead of handing over money, has taken panhandlers out to buy them lunch - sometimes just picking it up with them and sometimes actually eating with them - quite a different experience than handing out money. I assume; I've not done it. Hugs, Audrey , Caroline Abreu <carocrow@e...> wrote: > Hi Folks: > Another thing to think about... when we give, in what spirit are we doing it?
