Guest guest
Hi all, I have a perplexing issue, I'm hoping to get some insight into. I am subletting an apartment in Berkeley, CA and have lived in it for about 4 months now. Since moving in I have been unable to sleep and have been sensing negative energy in the place. At first I thought it was just the fact of being somewhere new, then i thought it was just my stress, then i thought it may be my roommate, but it hasn't changed. I feel, for the most part, positive and healthy and strong, but when I enter the apartment or when I am there for more than a couple of hours, I feel that my energy is being drained and I feel worried and as sense of closing off. My boyfriend says that he feels a strange energy there as well and that every time he spends the night, he feels exhausted. He gets tired from being in the apartment after just a few hours and when he wakes up, he says it feels like he was drugged. I can't sleep much at all. Recently I've been becoming more in tune with the energy emitted from my surroundings and am more able to identify the source of both negative and positive energy. Both my boyfriend and I believe that the people living downstairs are emitting extremely negative energy--they have a baby that cries a lot, at the oddest times, and in a way that sounds miserable rather than needy. And when I pass the man in the hallways I almost always want to shudder for no apparent reason. Anyway, I'm wondering if there is any way to clear the space of this negative energy so that I can go home without a sense of dread and sleep a peaceful sleep at night. any help is appreciated. thanks in advance... carla ===== _______ X is the answer! _______ Auctions - buy the things you want at great prices http://auctions./
Guest guest
Hi Carla: First off, I would suggest that you " send love downstairs " . Hunting a culprit for your negative feelings is probably making you edgy, fearful and a little paranoid. Perhaps these people are not what they seem to you. Perhaps they are. Either way, it will not hurt to center yourself and send love to them. If they reject it energetically, it will never be wasted; giving love is never wasted. Have you considered the possibility that they are affected by the " negative " energy of the home, as well? You may want to look at a couple of possibilities... first, that the apartment building itself is on some sort of ley line or negative vortex, and second, that your space needs to be cleared of old energetic detritus from previous tenants (and maybe even the spirits of previous tenants ;-) The first thing you can do is a clearing ritual with your roommate and your partner. If you have smoke detectors, you should avoid sage, but otherwise that's a good material, and you may be able to find it in incense or essential oil form that is not as smoky as smudge sticks or loose leaf sage. Open all the windows in the apartment and the doors, and start in the center of the apartment and work outwards, smudging every corner and closet with a blessing for peace, happiness and prosperity. Accentuate the positive in your blessing. If you are religious you might also consider having a minister, priest, rabbi, shaman or priestess come in and bless your home. If after that you continue to experience strange vibes in your home, it may be time to bring in " the big dogs " ; in other words, find yourself someone who is experienced in working with fixed energy patterns, such as discarnate spirits and leftovers from traumatic events (they can leave an energy imprint on an area like a film loop that we 'pick up' when we encounter it). I say find someone experienced, because if you don't know what you are doing you may be lucky, and then again, you may just move things without getting rid of them. As a worst case, you can irritate a resident spirit if you have one, and then you might have a poltergeist. I know it sounds strange to say this, but people who do this are not that rare. See if you have a local group of paranormalists or spiritualists or a medium who can assess your space. They will either do a releasement for the energy/spirit or tell you what will satisfy the spirit so that it will leave on its own. Guest guest
Carla... Put 1/2 cup of sea salt in a container that will hold a cup of water (using distilled water is best) and that you do not intend to use for other purposes. Add the cup of water. Put the container under the bed if possible. In the morning, flush the solution down the toilet. Refill the container, and then flush that as well. Do that every night for a while. Get some sage (incense or the actual stuff) and smudge the apartment. Many of the books on shamanism will tell you how to do this. See THE LAST GHOST DANCE, by Brooke Medicine Eagle, or SAMAN, HEALER, SAGE, by Alberto Villoldo. Good luck. -- --------------------------- Joel P. Guest guest
Hi Carla, The technique I like the most for clearing my space...either home or office...is the " Triple Grid " . This comes from the book, " What is Lightbody " . It is easy to do and very effective. You can find it (and a lot of other neat things to do) here: http://www.alchemicalmage.com/tools/grid.htm Carla Romaine wrote: > > Hi all, > > I have a perplexing issue, I'm hoping to get some > insight into. Guest guest
Thanks Joel! I'll try these suggestions tonight! Thanks again, Carla --- " Joel P. Guest guest
Hi, Carla... Here are some ideas I had in a file on my PC: As much as we need to cleanse ourselves, sometimes our homes and offices need a good energy cleansing as well. Here are some techniques which might help: The Room Wind Sweep Imagine that a rush of wind can be created, which blows all dense energy out a window or door. Use your arms to create a sweeping motion in the direction the energy should go. Sage/Cedar Burn sage or cedar, and allow the smoke to help clear the room of energy. Sage is good for " everyday " energy cleansing; cedar is used for those difficult and stubborn energies that don't seem to get cleansed by sage. Candles Hold a candle in your hands, imagining a clear mountain stream, for 5 minutes. Light the candle, and as it burns, your image of the stream is released into the area. Music Bright, light music can help alleviate dense energy in a home or office. Classical, new age, or " smooth jazz " seems to work best. Be aware that Rock `n Roll tends to increase the energy in an area, not decrease it. Good Old-fashioned Cleaning When all else fails, get out the dusting rag and vacuum. Often a good old-fashioned Spring Cleaning will cleanse a house of denseness better than anything else. Even if it is winter, open the windows for a few minutes to let fresh air in. If you are in an office, take all the papers off your desk and wipe down the desk surface. Peace, Karyn http://www.seekerscircle.com
Guest guest
how should one burn the sage leaves? or cedar leaves?
Guest guest
Anat: I have a large smudge bowl (it is an abalone shell) that I use to burn loose leaf sage and cedar twigs outdoors or in a place free of smoke alarms. It is *very* smoky, especially the white leaf sage, which is different from the wild sage they use in smudge sticks (but that is smoky enough ;-) Neither is the same kind of sage you use in cooking. You can also burn dried lavender and cedar chips in the smudge. If you just want a bit, you can burn a pinch or a single leaf of the white sage in a small ashtray or a pan you don't care much about. I routinely do the single leaf routine to smudge myself when I'm in a place that has proven intolerant of much smoke, like my office. (When I did my cleansing ceremony for my office a couple of years ago I set off the great honking fire alarms and the fire department came in yellow slicker suits, bearing giant exhaust fans... I don't recommend you try that where you are <LOL>) You can put it out by smothering it or simply putting water on the burning leaves. I've found the smudge sticks are hard to light, hard to keep lit, and when they finally do light, hard to put out. YMMV, Crow pine wrote: > how should one burn the sage leaves? or cedar leaves? > > ****************************************
