Guest guest
Dear Anat: I appreciate your reverance for life. I quality I admire. But I'd like to ask a question, do you equate frivolity or lightness with a waste of life? If so, how so? love connie > " pine " <pine > > Fri, 11 May 2001 22:36:23 +0300 > > Re: humor - ps > > p.s. > > imho, seriousness comes from appreciation to life. > taking life seriously may also mean: " i am so grateful to the gift of > living " i treat it with respect. i can't waste it. > > Anat
Guest guest
Dear Anat, Life should be taken seriously when it has to be...but life is also to be enjoyed with a lust for it.. I always faced things with a sense of humor, it comforts me... I worked for a hotel for many years and took care of my two children on my own and my motto was to work, work, and more work and be serious about my goals for me and my children...meanwhile I was killing myself and not enjoying myself or my children with the work overload... Then one day my son had a seizure and though the cat scan and mri's the discovered something on his brain...at that moment and time nothing else mattered but to be there for my son .....as he lay in the hospital with monitors etc etc....we joked and laughed and watched funny movies...I did not want him to take this so serious that he would forget he was a child....He is doing fine now and will be on medication for the rest of his life, but he always remembers how his hospital stay was so enjoyable and realizes that no matter how sick he was or is, he can do anything.....so now life is not so serious to me...I am so grateful he is a big strapping man of 19..and my daughter is serving in the US Navy and I worry about the state of the world...but we laugh about the fact that she worries about breaking a nail or her roots showing... Just enjoy what the universe has given us and rejoice in the power we have within ourselves to get through life with a smile. Sorry if I rambled group, it just was a soul writing.
