Guest guest
Hello... Well, in regard to fear ... I consider this to be one of two things ... It is either; A form attachment, and that the object of attachment may be lost. Or it is an aversion, which to wish to shun that which is unpleasant. In either case, this fear is the product of the law of the pairs of opposites. It is the product of inappropriate thinking and identification not only with that which you perceive, but even with the very instruments which are perceiving them. If we are spiritual beings in physical bodies, what does that really mean to you? If you were Self-aware, then this fear would be unnecessary, so I must ask you, who is it that is afraid? Pain is not inevitable unless you identify with the world that produces the pain. Suffering is not inevitable unless you identify with the pain. Your world is the product of your imagination. To be happy means to be sad is unavoidable as you swing upon the pendulum of the pairs of opposites, but to sit on the pivot and watch the pendulum swing is to understand that you have a center which is unaffected by this identification. To sit in that centre, and see the world as it is, not with the senses, but through them, is Illumination. -Anne-Louise.
Guest guest
These are definitions of these words as introduced into the English language pre- 12th century, as close to the original meanings that we can determine. Fear: an unpleasant often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger. Fright: to alarm suddenly. Notice that Fright is a startle response, putting our fight, flight or freeze sytem instant-on, ready to respond to the stimulus. Fear is the " Anticipation " of fright, and can hold the startle system into an unatural always-on position. Fear comes from an imaginary stimulus. Let's not mix up the healthy response with the neurotic condition. And while we are on etymology remember the opposite of Fear is Love. So as Anne-Louise sits protected from fear, safely in the center watching the pendulum, it's not from the objective 6th Chakra[illumination] but right in the middle of the lotus flower of the 4th.[unconditional love, agape]. Guest guest
Rusty... Interesting .. just one point. Your final paragraph suggests that Illumination and Love are seated in different chakras. This is only true in the beginner. Once Illunimation is reached, the 6th and 4th chakra blend into the 'heart-mind', so there is really no difference. Also, at the centre of the 'pendulum' you are not protected from fear, you are simply not affected by it. I have been in situations where external stimuli would have normally provoked a fear reaction (like nearly being trashed by an oncoming car at high speed to be precise) and yet I was entirely calm and centred, and simply dealt with the situation without any reaction whatsoever. I have also been in what would normally be stressful situations where other people have been badly affected, and been able to work with total calmness and efficiency, and left wondering why everyone else was so upset. Alas, this wonderful Illuminated condition is not yet my natural and habitual home, but at least I am aware what it is, and have some indication of how to attain it. Gradually I am looking for this to be the case, and one day, with the grace of the spirit and the reward of efforts, I too will at last be a Master in my own right. Then the journey really starts!! Keeping on, Keeping on (and sometimes getting tired but still going anyway!!) Cheers, Anne-Louise. > " Rusty Morgan " <rustym > > Tue, 22 May 2001 20:34:38 -0700 > > Re: ...
