Guest guest
Interesting thread. I have a teacher - of massage - who's a genius masseur and brilliant teacher. He can also be an arsehole - arrogant, egotistic, supremely irritating. (Leo). When he actually teaches and/or gets hands on, the arrogance and other negatives just drop away, and he's sensitive, empathic, generous with his expertise, time, attitude - really wonderful. Otherwise he'd not be worth putting up with. In his case I think it's just insecurity - he feels there has to be a performance, he has to be top dog. He knows it, too - most of the time. Sometimes he believes his own publicity, when he really is unbearable. Then I just ignore it and him and wait. Earlier this year he ran into trouble with his business, and was crushed by the failure. He looked 15 years younger, was softer, gentler - all the arrogance was gone, and his insecurities and fears and sadness were out there - nothing hidden. I liked him so much more (the teaching was the same) then - and told him so. He's back up to speed now. Drives us all bonkers, but we still go back because the teaching is true and brilliant. Guest guest
Arabella it is almost always there: the genius together with Ego stuff. it takes time and pain to really understand that " kind-heart " is better than " genius " even if the former is mediocre in his knowledge and skills. even if he excites you less. I learned to cherish the simple people with no blinking personality. the " gray " people shine to me more Anat
