6 weeks ago i went with my girls to the stadium

in Jerusalem which has a beautiful thick lawn and many many crows.

I left my bag and my sandals on the grass and started to run

along the route.

after a while a crow came near the bag opened it with his mouth

took away the sandwish whic was folded with a naylon,

unfolded the naylon and flew away holdind the full sanwich in his mouth.

(how do you say in english : the mouth of a bird?)

we saw the whole scence

we noticed how it was aPPOACHING THE BAG trying to steal the food

and we run towards it to make him fly back - but he acted too quickly flying

above us with the bread.,,:-)

like it was teasing us saying " I can fly,,,, you can not " .

what a wondferful tenacity to life it had.

people in the stadium who witnessed this told us that crows adore

bright objects and that i should be more careful not to leave watches money

and other shining stuff,

few minutes later that crow came back to share the sandwich with his friends

on the lawn...it was generou to his colleques

" he took what he needed and left the rest "

it didn't show any fear or hesitation the little brave crow. it acted like

" i deserve this " . and we respected this attitude.

-----

by the way. i am travelling this summer to Canada and the west coast of the

US, Is there anybody in this groups who lives in these places?

is there any place in the world that contains only positive kind people like

i find in this group? an utopian society who is seeking to improve itself? a

place where its residets send

encouraging energies to their neighbors? if such a community exists in

cyberspace - it must exist in real life too.

call me naive, but i am still looking for such a city in the world and i

want to relocate to asuch a quite peaceful place

and this journey's purpose is to find such a city.

if you found the utopian place to live in - let me know please

i'll come to check it.

Anat:

What a wonderful crow story!

I recently read one that was so funny, about a fellow who went to

one college, but all summer he 'entrained' the crows at another

college by going to the football field and blowing a whistle,

then providing food for them. They got quite used to his coming,

and hearing the whistle. When football season began, and the

referee blew his whistle, the flock descended on the field and it

took several minutes to clear them :-)

I wish I could tell you of such a Shangri La as you describe, but

I suspect it would be a very crowded place. There is something

very strange about the development of an online community, a

group that can become very close and supportive of each other

without any face to face contact. I have been participating in

online groups for five years now, and moderating groups for two

years. As a woman who met her husband in a group, and have made

many friends through the venue, I have positive feelings and a

lot of openness. But, I know that people are not always what they

seem online, because it is an anonymous medium.

As my father often quotes, " Be wise as a serpent, gentle as a

dove " ... when you meet folks you have only spoken to, no matter

how wonderful they appear, it is best to be cautious at first. I

have to say that the hefty majority of people I've met in the

flesh have been blessings to me and have become real friends.

In regular life, there are so many barriers, including all the

little prejudices we carry around consciously and unconsciously,

all the boundaries and hangups and history. All our baggage, in

other words. In such a utopia as you describe, maybe there is no

baggage. I've never been to such a place, but we can certainly

dream about it and work towards it as a reality if we want it,

can't we? :-)

Blessings, Dreaming Tiger...
