A friend has just been diagnosed with diverticulitis. After painful and

unpleasant explorations and

tinkering around, the highly paid consultant said there was nothing short of

surgery that he could

do, and told Lew to go home, eat lots of bran and take some paracetamol. Wow,

what a help.

 

Does anyone have any ideas about treatment, diet, etc that I could pass on? Lew

is 50+, used to

drink (no more) and seems to eat pretty healthily (but he is of 'full figure',

as they say).

 

Any help, as ever, gratefully received.
