Guest guest
Wow, full of links today. This one is regarding things that stand between us and the goal of good health in all aspects of our lives. Do you recognize any of these hurdles? http://healing.about.com/health/healing/library/weekly/aa000916a.htm -- --- Blessings, Crow " Look for Rainbows in the Darkness " --- Caroline " Crow " Abreu

Do you recognize any of these hurdles? The last article there caught my attention - " Getting Caught Up In Seeking A Cure - Some people with chronic diseases get so caught up in the whole " battle " -- the search for solutions -- that they forget about living today. " I see this SO much in my practice. People get hung up on TSH scores and how many grams of this or that mineral they are getting daily. It's sad because their lives are passing them by in the meantime! It's hard when you are in pain, I know it takes a lot of research, but after a while it seems that their time would be better spent in other ways. I am so much a proponent of learning to focus on what you Do want rather than what you Don't want. I am almost through with Lynn Grabhorn's book. Has anyone else read the whole book? I love the way she writes. I read her book recently and liked it so much that I bought a copy for my Dad, sister, and brother! I too enjoy her writing style. It seems like I recall someone else on this list mentioning her book before and having some problems with these ideas working for them. Was this you? At the time it was mentioned, I had not read the book so couldn't relate. Laurie

Was this you? Hi Laurie, No that wasn't me. I've been into these sorts of principles for a long time and have seen them working in my life. I just feel that this author explains them better than anyone I've ever heard before. If I liked writing, this is the book I would have written! I'd love to do a daily 'script' with you or anyone else who would like to do something like that for a while. It feels better to me to share it with people who know the same lingo and concepts. Maybe write a daily email for what we are feeeeeeling. <g> Linda " DrNature " ------------------- Linda Ryan, PhD Physical and Mental Health Nutrition, Herbs, Fitness, Career, Living your Passion http://www.DrNature.net ------------------

How if all the focus is on one thing, it neglects the rest. As far as the food goes, I was impressed by the way you shared...that your focus is on What you can eat not what you can't. and Enjoy what you can have immensely... It certainly is a powerful way to embrace the positive! and quit fighting ourselves and just BE. and ENJOY THAT BEING IMMENSELY. Way to go girl! Guest guest
It seems we need balance when it comes to wellness. Like you said, people get hung up on numbers, or certain cures. It's not that its not good to do your research and find ways of supplementing what your physical body needs, feed it the right foods, etc., but then there's the mental, emotional, spiritual bodies to consider as well. And focusing on only one aspect neglects the rest, and its all important. As far as food is concerned, since I've been on a pretty strict eating regime, I focus of what I can eat instead of what I can't. And enjoy what I can have immensely. Makes it so much easier. --Lilla This one is regarding things that stand between us and the goal of good health in all aspects of our lives. Do you recognize any of these hurdles? Guest guest
I have observed that a very large and unfortunately common hurdle to wellness is the individual's refusal to take responsibility for their own wellness. So many people take the attitude that they're like a cork on the ocean, being blown this way and that ... Whatever happens, happens. But THEY have no say, so they may as well drift in whatever direction they are blown by the winds of " chance " . This unfortunate attitude directly flies in the face of the new age mantra " You create your own reality! " For me, it's sad to see a person " hang on to " their lack of wellness when they could instead reach out with a different attitude: " I CAN make a difference in this situation! " I have one in-law relative who's been diagnosed with early MS. She's had bad headaches most of her adult life. But rather than seek out a cause, she searches for a better pain reliever to mask the loud message her body has been giving her. She got carpal tunnel syndrome, but rather than pursuing any one of the numerous holistic solutions she chose surgery - " Let the DOCTOR take responsibility instead of me " . Her stated attitude has long been " Life is crap " . Well, her power to create her own reality is indeed manifesting. This same lady's husband has had a bout with cancer, and now within the last week he has had a heart attack. HIS mental attitude, diet, smoking, obesity, and couch potato lifestyle are a classic RECIPE for non wellness. My belief in reincarnation helps me to realize that for such people there is likely a bigger picture need with them that I am not in a position to understand or judge. They have likely set up some " lesson " for themselves. Still, their attitude just CLASHES with my personal beliefs. So I usually offer such people one or more alternatives to consider. Usually, they decline. At that point I figure, hey, it's their life. But it is too bad. Life doesn't HAVE TO be sad. Guest guest
I think I'll try focusing on that, too. Thanks.
