Guest guest
Hi all. I held anger, and denied it, even to myself. A Drug & ac=lcohol therapist, was a riding client of mine and he wanted to help me release that anger he saw, however, 'I wasn't angry at anyone, or anything!' We spoke 2-3 hours, for about 6-7 weeks of wonderful feedback, and learning from each other. Then he confessed, " You got me! I don't know where your anger is coming from, and by now, it should have shown. Whose anger are you holding anyway? " He went on, but I was stopped cold! I asked him to back up to what he said. He did so twice to get to that phrase that quickened my heart! He repeated. I thought, " my mother, at my dad, for l;eaving her? NO What about my ex? No, don't even care. Then I thought Mr. J. who was like a dad, and was driven to manic depression, and into the Mental health system, because he was such a gentleman, and he couldn't get rid of this vicious woman? It hit me like a tidal wave. I was holding Mr J.s anger at Miss xxx. The tears just ran down my face as if this truth was waiting to be released! It was a big surprise to that therapist/friend, and to myself, as I seem so in control most of the time. He just was amazed. " You're crying " Once realized, it was okay to let it go! Mayby by holding it in all that time, is why I can not always 'see' deep hidden anger in others, as easily, as I should. EFT. Where can I get the better information on this subject. Is that Emotional Field Therapy? Rose
Guest guest
Hi Rose: What an amazing story. And how true... sometimes we carry other people's " stuff " with us, as well as our own! EFT is Emotional Freedom Technique. It is a meridian therapy designed by Gary Craig. You can download a free PDF file of his manual at his website: http://www.emofree.com He has an article called " EFT's many cousins " that talks about some of the other meridian/energy therapy approaches, including Tapas Fleming's TAT. EFT itself is a distillation of Thought Field Therapy, or TFT. Another basic information page about EFT is here: http://www.geocities.com/sjoseph2/EFT.html Hope this is helpful!
