Guest guest
The second chakra post... again, if you have any comments or questions, feel free! I'll post another two tomorrow to go easy on the digest recipients. Caroline " Crow " Abreu ********************* Greetings: This post is the second in the discussion regarding the energy centers or chakras. The Sacral Chakra Location: Lower abdomen in front, sacral spine in back Spinal Nerve Plexus: Sacral spinal ganglion Glands: Gonads (Ovaries and Testes) Body Parts: Reproductive system, bladder, lower abdomen Sanskrit Name: Svadhisthana Element: Water Color Vibration: Orange Keynote Vibration: D Focus: Creativity, Pleasure, Sexuality, Desire, Balance of Opposites Stones: Orange Stones (carnelian, coral, jasper) Incense: Gardenia, Damiana Foods: Liquids Affirmations: I feel; I balance; I desire; I create Disorders: Fluid imbalance (edema or dehydration), bladder infections, yeast and pelvic infections, sexually transmitted diseases (venereal), inability to commit to relationships, feelings of victimization, mistrust, or helplessness. When we are well balanced and our sacral chakra is functioning properly, we feel our emotions and can relate to them, especially feelings of pleasure and desire. We are in touch with our creativity, comfortable with our sexuality, and open to healthy relationships with others. An obvious healthy expression of the sacral energy is procreation, but other forms of creativity, such as artistic expression, cooking, or building are also positive. Some manifestations of a blocked or malfunctioning sacral center may be impotence and frigidity or conversely compulsive promiscuity, uterine or bladder problems, sacral or sciatic pain. We may feel creatively " blocked " , frustrated with our relationships, and lacking normal joy in simple pleasures. Life may feel colorless and bland, filled with aimless anger and anxiety. Women may develop endometriosis and PMS, men may develop prostatitis or torqued vas deferens. Either may develop genitourinary cancers or colon disorders. We may resort to substances such as alcohol or drugs because we mistakenly believe they enhance our creativity and increase our ability to feel good (because of inhibition supression). In fact, ultimately, the addiction to the substances or behaviors does just the opposite. In order to keep the sacral chakra healthy, it is important to focus on balance between light and shadow, embracing both with acceptance. Exploring our sacred sexuality, finding our deep and enduring pleasures, and learning how to express ourselves creatively will all enhance the flavor of our lives, the joie de vivre. We should remember to flow, like the element of water. The traditional Indian correspondance animals for the sacral chakra are makara, fish, and sea creatures. ©
