Harold, I did not only like it. I loved it!

I was transported to the Lake, saw the water and

every detail became large as life for me.

The system for this is described at www.paradigm-pubs.com. Click on

``Reference Materials'' (bottom of the home page); then, click on ``Term

Service.'' Most of this work is concentrated on developing and refining the

relationships between Chinese concepts and English terms. For example,

yesterday we received list of 16 terms according to this procedure. These range

from what might be typos in the PRC med. school textbook the sender is

translating, to odd medicinal names. Much recent activity has been centered on

herb names, in particular, the latin.

 

We have also added Nigel's doctoral thesis and an article on the non-linguistic

aspects of translation. Below the Term Service link, in a drop-down list under

Nigel Wiseman's name, you will find both as PDF files. The thesis is very large

and will take quite a while to download on a modem connection.
