Guest guest
A person might reasonably wonder why our medical system would be in the nefarious condition it is. Below I'll briefly explore some possible answers. ==> Many current medical methods and pills are VERY expensive. Thus, there is a large vested interest in making them the method of choice for the population. One way to do this is via government favoritism - the power of government to harass and even convict those who wish to offer more reasonably priced and/or efficacious alternatives. Just a few years ago in Minnesota we organized and lobbied for the freedom for health care providers who use " alternative therapies " to " do their thing " without fear of harassment from government. I was an activist in this movement. We SUCCEEDED. We got a law passed that says to government " LAY OFF alternative health care providers, unless there is clear and convincing evidence of fraud. " ==> There is an immoral collusion between medical schools and the " deleterious cut-burn-poison " industry; the latter are the ones who can afford to fund large research grants that help to pay the bills at medical schools. This not only influences what kind of research will be done; it also gives the industry enough clout to " suggest " to medical schools what kind of research it would be better to not undertake - such as research into holistic modalities. ==> There is an unfortunate tendency in our population to look upon the traditional medical industry as a kind of religion wherein it's not that big a deal if you " sin " as regards care for your body, because the medical priesthood is standing by ready to forgive you of your sins. Close inspection would reveal that a dismaying percentage of their methods and pills do not stand up to scrutiny. But since their " parishioners " have an imbedded faith in the system, that's irrelevant. Here is an excerpt from page 19 of the 1979 book _Confessions of a Medical Heretic_ by Robert S. Mendelsohn, M.D. " Modern Medicine relies on faith to survive. All religions do. So heavily does the Church of Modern Medicine rely on faith that if everyone somehow simply forgot to believe in it for just one day, the whole system would collapse.
