Of Will And Right

Sage

To Will belongs the Right. For Souls,

When strong prevail, when weak become

Subject to changes, good and bad,

And with the wind may go and come.

Then, deny not that Will in Soul

Is greater than the Might of Arm,

And weakling only mounts the throne

Of those beyond the good and harm.

Lo! In the lion's lair a scent

Which bids the fox's cubs away,

Whether the denizens are there,

Or in the forest on foray.

And thus it is with certain birds,

Who, though on wing in the free space,

Are ever frightened by the hawk,

Who, dying, keeps his pride of race.

Kahlil Gibran

This is from the book, The Procession.

Hope that you enjoy reading it.
