Guest guest
Yoga, it's teachings and application can assist individuals who suffer from depression..It needs to be remembered that depression and it's mainifestations vary....Some individuals who suffer from depression may be borderline with other emotional disorders..they may be so hopelessly lost, that they need something to get them to a level where they can understand what Yoga is all about...Other people sometimes mistake depression for a lack of energy and enthusiasm, chronic sadness, fatigue, or just difficulty dealing with the challenges and dissapointments of life and living..........Certainly, the sincere and persistent practice of meditation, with an understanding of the philosophy behind the practice will bring benefits........Hatha yoga is also an effective practice in dealing with depression, but again it is important to remember that Depression is varied................Other aspects of life, which may not be addressed in all Yoga schools and traditions are also helpful in dealing with sad feelings, low energy and mild forms of depression.......diet, leisure activities, sleep habits..............If an individual wants to develop and cultivate a new state of mind, there are no quick and easy answers...it takes effort, and time, compassion, understanding and nurturing from others.......
