Guest guest
When individuals become more relaxed in the body, they start to let go.........Tension in the body, the letting go of it, releases tension in the mind..........the mind becomes more clear to one's own gifts and the gifts of others.... This letting go process is an experience that makes life very interesting.......But with these interesting aspects there may be painful realizations also........Some indivdiuals may stop their practice because of physical and mental pain.............there may even be fear...........If this happens, talk with your teacher............he or she should be able to encourage one, nurture them, to continue their practice.........and understand what is going on..........this practice of yoga has been compared to peeling of the layers of an onion........ Through practice, we can see our own happiness and unhappiness...our own skillfulness and unskillfulness............this is an important realization, because once we see it in ourselves, we can understand and see it better in others...........That all human beings are in the same boat....... This is a step to greater compassion and love for all......There is no reason or skillfulness in condemning others...........The results of Yoga practice are not measured in postures but in actions to oneself and others.....this can be thought of as being the skillful servanthood of Karma Yoga........We can be present with others instead of competing with them or comparing ourselves to them...We can better understand the universal reactions and emotions we all experience, deal with, and in some cases, trouble us........The ability to do various postures is not always a sign of divine deliverance and spiritual evolvement.............but certainly, posture practice can assist in bringing these things about.................we can become " gentle and humble in heart " (Matthew 11:28) through the letting go process that posture practice brings about......... Bhagavad Gita 6:32 - " One is considered the best (advanced) yogi who regards every being like oneself, and who can feel the pain and pleasures of others as one's own "
