Guest guest
Hi Kath, About Emotional Freedom Techniques... EFT-founder Gary Craig's comprehensive website (http://www.emofree.com) is a wow's wow. But you also might want to explore the terrific energy psychology portal site, The Association for Meridian and Energy Therapies Online Information Centre, http://TheAMT.com. Introductory articles and info on EFT and many other techniques. Many free downloads. At that site, you can find a two-minute stress release animation that is a great first intro to acupressure-based energy psych techniques such as EFT. (Silvia Hartmann's animation is at http://www.TheAMT.com/release.htm, and it's accompanied by illustration and more info at http://123eft.com.) You might find that just using this animation is a useful adjunct to the therapy or whatever else you are doing for your depression. I can remember how very overwhelmed and paralyzed I felt during episodes of major depression some years back -- couldn't have handled much reading, but I know I would have glommed onto this follow-along animation had it existed then. If you do want to delve more into this subject sometime, here are some lists of annotated links I submitted to AMT's site that might be helpful to newbies... Energy Psychology on Internet Links to general intros, then alphabetical listing of techniques with short blurbs with links to websites of originators. (Attractor Field Therapy, Be Set Free Fast, Gaugework, Matrix Work, etc.) Long list in 3 parts, starting at: http://www.theamt.com/article.php?sid=49 Acronyms & Abbreviations Useful online reference for newbies to help sort out acronyms/abbrevs as you read about EFT and other energy psychology related topics. (CV-24, EB, NL, UN, SUDS, TW-3 vs TE-3, etc.). In 3 parts, the last of which lays out EFT " basic recipe " tapping points in sequence with meridian/acupoint designations. And speaks of meridian names (which can be confusing), abbreviations, descriptions. Starts at: http://www.theamt.com/article.php?sid=74 TAT Links Tapas Acupressure Technique -- links to " how-to's " and online illustrations of TAT pose. I love TAT, and highly recommend that you try it sometime. Easy to learn and use. http://www.theamt.com/article.php?sid=52 Allergy Links I'm convinced that one of the many factors contributing to my history of depression was allergies. In any event, that idea might be worth considering exploring sometime... Links on this list are roughly grouped: 1. Techniques (Allergy Antidotes, BioSET, NAET, NLP, TAT, etc.). 2. More general allergy-related info. 3. Acupressure and other treatments for specific problems such as sinusitis. http://www.theamt.com/article.php?sid=10 Other references... Meridians (interactive models, etc.): http://www.theamt.com/article.php?sid=39 Acupressure: http://www.theamt.com/article.php?sid=55 Muscle Testing (Energy Checking): http://www.theamt.com/article.php?sid=43 Animals (e.g., Animal EFT): http://www.theamt.com/article.php?sid=51 Anatomy & Physiology (thymus, sore spot, temporal tap, etc.): http://www.theamt.com/article.php?sid=53 Best wishes, Bronwen Stimpert
