Any experience with Chi swing machines?

Hi,

I was considering purchasing a Chi swing machine (you lie on your

back and place your ankles on the machine, and it swings your legs

back and forth). Supposed to be very good for relaxation, and

improving sleep. Does anyone have any experience with these machines?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,

JB

No offense to the producers of Chi Machines (I tried one at an Expo

and it was interesting, though I don't know if I'd be interested in

using it every day, because there is a little disorienting feel

after you get up).

There is a machine that was sold on Home Shopping several years ago

that does the very same thing, and was considerably cheaper. It was

touted to do all sorts of wonderful passive exercise things for you,

though I haven't seen it any more so my assumption is that either they

have been repackaged as Chi Machines (and their market shifted) or

they never worked in the first place. Call me cynical... I didn't have

good long term results with magnets, either.

Any rocking motion of the body will be hypnotic and relaxing. Sleeping

in a free movement waterbed or a hammock would probably have a similar

but milder effect... and either is less expensive, if they are still

in the range they were when I saw them at the Expo.

Crow

c'mon Ma Crow, massages and most Energy and Body Work-ings do that a lot

too :-) ,

Well . . . according to the CHI Machine people, they use much better

quality parts and a special design to achieve a specific style of motion.

A couple of years ago a very close friend of mine purchased one. She has

been using it off and on with some noticeably good results. Part of the

success comes from following instructions about where to place your hands

for various needs, when and how much water to drink in conjunction with

using the Chi Machine, etc.

Of course I've tried it too and quite enjoyed it as something in between

the real thing. I even took it to work (massage, Reiki, myofascial

release, etc) as an experiment to warm up a few clients before I worked on

them. A few liked it, but most of them were coming in for the hands-on

experience and didn't care for it. As you say, just rocking them for a few

minutes either from the back or from the feet like the machine, has good

results too.

To me, the magnets are best in short term use. I find it disconcerting to

be isolated from Mother Earth's natural magnetism for too long and or my

ability to channel Reiki seems to get interfered with.

Here's a suggestion: Use Applied Kiniesiology before and after using the

Chi Machine (or ANY method) to test yourself for results. Actually, the

salesperson that did the demo for us showed us a video of a chiropractor

that was teaching people how to use the machine. He was using AK as his

measuring tool to show results, and they seemed to agree with what they

were trying to do.

BTW, I have had the opportunity to try another brand, and it did feel a bit

different.

Thanks Michelle.

I respect Donna's opinion and I hadn't seen this report

I have her 4 video set [package 2] and have experienced vast energy increase

following her routines.

I think I'll stay with Donna and pass on the machine.
