Guest guest
Rachel, greetings Some of the things I use to describe Reiki is that it is an approached developed by a Japanese man who learned there are Key (symbols)to opening up oneself to the life force energy that is all around us. Just as there are radio waves all around and the radio tunes into a particular level , the Reiki practioner tunes into this energy vibration and through their intention for healing can move that energy to another. A second thing is to remind them I do not know how electricity or microwaves work necessarily, but that does not mean I cannot use them. I do not have to have all the answers to make them effective for me. You can not make another not skeptical, but you can help open there eyes. I like your approach to offer free session to the staff. Maybe you could ask for a staff meeting to have yourself and maye a friend do a group session. My friends and I have gone to many hospitals and given free 10 minutes, people get to watch while another goes out(relaxes) into the process and gets to experience the process for themself. This seems to open their eyes. Just bring your CD and a chair ...We have done this at Health Fairs in hospitals, staff meeting, in hospice workers conference and any place we are asked. Hope this helps Cecelia Bon Jour, LCSW ReikiMaster, Pranic Healer Psychotherapist
Guest guest
I am currently doing massage and Reiki at a rehab centre and was explaining to the staff about Reiki. I explained about it coming from Buddhism and it coming from a Chinese concept of chi and meridian theory about energy. I explained that it was channeling energy (from where? a sceptical nurse asked me. . I had a feeling that 'from the Universe' wasn't going to be a suitable answer. . . so I tried well from the air around you . . . I think he didn't laugh out of politeness. He asked his boss what he thought and his answer ws 'It's a complementary therapy. It must be worth something " ). Anyway i have offered them all free fifteen minute trials so that they can see whats' involved. At the moment in the rehab centre I do mostly 30 minute back massages or on-site. I think that a lot of patients, especially anorexics who don't want to be touched, would really benefit from Reiki as well as massage. But I am having problems trying to think of ways to explain it. i have offered the free sessions to staff so that they can see for themselves as many people that I have used Reiki on have said that it's very difficult to decribe - just that they really like it. Can any of you help me with an explanation that is more 'scientific' than channeling energy from the Universe? regards Rachel Everything you'll ever need on one web page from News and Sport to Email and Music Charts http://uk.my. Guest guest
Hi Rachael: You might want to begin by giving them some exercises to explore biological energy, and then explain that Reiki is one particular kind of therapeutic energy that is vibrationally specific. Here is my page about energy in general, with a link to a brief explanation about Reiki: http://www.geocities.com/nrgbalance/energy.html Hope this helps.
