Guest guest
I would consider going to the NC govt. web page and search professional practices. Also there might be a NC lawyers/bar page who would have some answers to your legal questions. Try going out on Google and typing in NC laws on counseling, see what pops up. Just an idea, Cecelia

I think the only way to know for sure would be to see an Attorney, but meanwhile, I did find one site that lists licensed occupations and the licensing requirements for most states. So, if your desired title is not listed, it might be okay to use, but still there's no guarentee of that. Only your lawyer knows for sure. http://www.acinet.org/acinet/lois_start.htm One loophole would be get ordained online as a minister, that opens up quite a few doors legally. A place to do that is http://www.ulc.org/. It's free. Of course the site has plenty of materials to sell you after you're ordained. Anyone else has info I'd like to see it. Thanks, Dave. -- Mystic-Path

Guest guest
Hello, Laws in most states are similar. If you claim advice/counseling service for enhancement, then states want some sort of registration. If you claim 'therapy', then you could run afoul of licensed therapists (psychologists) If you claim healing, then you are practicing medicine without a license. Most often, you can claim healing/therapy *if* you work *only* with referrals from psychs/Drs. Beyond that generalisation, check the dept of health or http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/blio/occboards.htm steve >Hi all, >I'm interested in any information or leads on where to look for >information regarding what the legal boundaries are for titles of >emotional/spiritual guidance counselors are, specifically in North >Carolina, USA. ie: if I have no formal school degrees, and I want to >offer intuitive guidance to others, perhaps for a fee, what is >it allowable by law for me to advertise my services/my self?
