Guest guest
As many of us realize, we are what we think. Therefore it's essential to our health to have a positive outlook on life, especially our self image. I noticed when I changed my attitude, my life began improving. By following through with related actions, I began the transformation process to being a better person. This doesn't mean I'm better than others because I'm aware of my abilities, and had many successes, it only means I've improved myself personally, from my physical condition to my wellbeing on all levels, proving to me the importance of self awareness. I've always been attuned to my inner voice, which gave me guidance no one else could, and helped me develop my skills. I was born disabled, and was terribly misunderstood, neglected and treated as no good. Occasionally my talents were praised, so I had a little positive feedback. It took me years to realize my rebelliousness hurt me more than them, so I stopped. All i wanted was love and had much to give but didn't know how to show it or ask for it. I knew I'd be tired of perpetuating the vicious cycle I was in with those I who seemed to wage war against me. We fought for control of eacher, and failed miserably. My parent's disappointment in me was really within themselves, though I got the brunt of it. After many years of self abuse also, I stopped running away from myself, realizing how unsuccessful running was. When I finally faced myself, fears and all, and gave myself a deep personal evaluation, I began my healing/recovery process. From codependent, bitter, insecure and depressed, grew a happy, confident and content person, able to reach out, give and receive love and guidance. By taking control of my thoughts, words and behavior I took charge of my life, accepting what I couldn't change, improving what I could, and helping others by sharing my experiences, with much success. Working intensely with my inner voice, I found myself and nurtured my intuitive skills while learning new things also, like computers. When I began learning of natural remedies, I took even more control over my health. The satisfaction and rewards of all these positive choices have empowered me and helped me along my journey in my personal growth. It took many years but I finally believed in myself enough to make the effort. Now I'm rarely ill, sad, angry or fearful. I overcame many troubles and proved to myself I was more capable than most people gave me credit for. In understanding the body/mind connection, I see how important it is to treat the whole person. Through creative expression and spirituality, among other healthy activities, I found hope and healing, by replacing the bad habits, thoughts and feelings and finding positive ways to channel my negative ones so I didn't explode. Forgiveness, acceptance, respect and a healthy self love brought me a long way from what I was. Forgiveness in NOT a pardon, just a releasing of the burdens it creates deep inside us. By releasing grudges, anger, etc, we lighten our heavy load and begin the healing/recovery process. In doing these things, our health is greatly improved. This is a great awareness! My own experiences proved to me the connection between body and mind. Although I still have a long way to go, I know I'm doing better. I'm thankful for my abilities and success, yet always humble and open to learning and improving. Each day I count my Blessings and celebrate life as a wonderous, magical gift to be cherished with all my being. For me, being self aware helped me heal and make peace with myself.
