Guest guest
Dear Franke, Namaskar. Your mail clearly brought out the trials and tribulations of staying human in this tech sav vy world. Already we were far removed from nature when we decided to move out of the villages and congregate on the concrete jungles called cities. And then came the idiot box and the computer which threatens to obliterate the last vestiges of our human existence. I would suggest that we take the developments as a challenge to improve ourselves. Instead of going crazy about the comforts of life let us choose between what we need and what we want. Let us dive into the works of our philosophers of yore and try to understand what they had to say about the aim of human life. As you yourself pointed out, the computer may capture our bodies but it cannot capture our souls. So let us search for the soul and identify with it. The computer may dictate us about how we should behave in the outside world but it holds very little sway over our forays into the inner world. Happy journey! Jagannath.
