Guest guest
If you are struggling with affirmations it may be that you are doing them in times of desperation or stress. Very simply we either come from a place of love or a place of fear. When we come from a place of fear (i.e think we are going to lose a relationship) we never make good decisions. However, when we come from a place of love our choices are healthy and always have the best outcome for all concerned. Just notice as you read this how you are sitting and breathing. Are your stomach muscles relaxed? It is amazing how we restrict our breath although it is fundamental to us. When we are stressed or fearful our breathing changes. Sometimes when we are under constant stress from work or other sources we fail to notice what is going on with our bodies. Bearing this in mind, next time you decide to try using positive affirmations take a few minutes to sit comfortably in a chair, turn off the phone and focus on your breath. Breathe fully and deeply and as you start to relax and your mind quietens down then drop in some positive affirmations like " everything is working out perfectly " or " I am loved and I am safe " to help yopur body relax. I find that singing positive affirmations (yes I know that sounds whacky) really helps. I have produced a CD of chants (affirmations) and guided meditations for use in my workshops and you can hear a sample if you visit the url below. http://www.aplacefortheheart.co.uk/resources/healyourlifecd.htm with love, Gillian
