Re-membering To The Dream

(Dedicated to Martin Luther King, Jr.)

 

A dream imparted to the mind of a great humanitarian many years ago

to help usher in a new thinking about the way we flow

As a people divided by concepts of race, creed and color

Missing the ultimate truth that in Creation's eyes

we are truly Sisters and Brothers

 

Even though conceptual differences are used to divide

the undeniable commonality is found deep inside

Where Spirit beyond definition is common to All

And anything that denies that

becomes a reason for the fall…

…from Grace

 

So on this day

as we remember the dream shared by Martin Luther King, Jr.

May we also re-member to it

Let it's wisdom become a part of us instead of just recalling it

So we may realize a different way

of experiencing each other
