Guest guest
Hello All: I'd like to welcome you all to . A brief reminder, you are modded only until you post the first time; this is to prevent the group from being spammed by people who don't participate but want to use these lists to advertise. So I encourage you to post an introduction or a question and we can remove the mod so you can interact freely with the other participating members. If you're not sure if you've posted before, or you think you might still be modded, post again! I'm trying to catch up with the usernames of active members but it helps to see them in recent context. June is already upon us, and Midsummer can't be far behind. Heavens, this year has flown already. I look forward to meeting you and talking about the bodymind connection and ways we can facilitate health and healing by using our minds and energy for ourselves and others. Blessings, Ro " Crow " Abreu Mod
Guest guest
Peace Be Unto You All! With my greetings, I wish to introduce myself, a new member of the group. I am Constance, a wife, mother, grandmother, spiritual counselor, healing minister, Fascinating Womanhood instructor, and birth Doula. My life work as a spiritual healer to those who suffer is primarily via remote channeling, which has evolved to be particularly dramatic. I have been very interested in the mind/body connection all of my 57 years of life, yes, even as a child! That long-standing interest led me to my life work and now to this list. I look forward to sharing in the discussions here and learning more about NLP. Divine Blessings of Peace, Love, and Light, Sister Constance Sell on Auctions - No fees. Bid on great items. Guest guest
Constance... I may have missed something while I was out of town, so I am not sure why you are expecting to learn about NLP on the Body-Mind list. You can find out a little about NLP and my background in it at the following URL: http://www.scs-enterprises.com/scs_nlp.shtml I will be glad to answer questions about it either here or offlist. Let me know if you think I can help. Enjoy, Joel ______________________________ Joel P. Guest guest
Peace Be Unto You! Please pardon me; I did not intend to confuse you. My ending expression was in response to the alluring information I encountered when I visited your website. I was guided there from your post of welcome to Sara and invitation to her to learn more about you via your website while you were away for you workshop in Tennessee. In an effort to introduce myself, it seemed appropriate to share a common interest I discovered I had with the work you do. There was for me a natural expectation that by association I would garner more insights into NLP while also participating in discussions regarding the body/mind connection. No worry; I can make the adjustment because my initial interest in joining this list was attraction to the issue of body/mind connection. Peace. Sister Constance " Joel P. Yes, I must have been confused, too. At any rate, NLP is also about the body-mind connection, but its approach is different from that of Energy medicine. ______________________________ Joel P. Guest guest
Hi Joel: You may have missed that NLP is listed on our group's front page as an appropriate discussion topic for the community :-) Of course, it's hard to get an education in anything in a discussion group unless we coordinate it specifically to teaching. I've done segments on the chakras in the past, and it would be interesting to have some pointers on other bodymind techniques such as self hypnosis, creating affirmations or NLP. It would be good to hear from the group what they would like to talk about... it's quite possible that someone here can help out in that regard if they are willing to play ad hoc mentor. " I didn't even know that mailing lists had them.... That aside, I am a Master Practitioner and Licensed Trainer of NLP, and earned my certifications through Richard Bandler. If list members have questions about NLP, I would be glad to answer them as best I can, whether on- or offlist, depending. My own emphasis in NLP is on health (as opposed to sales or education, although I have used it for those applications, too). ______________________________ Joel P. Guest guest
Hi Joel: Yes, we have a lovely page at : On the page after you log into are many functions for the group, including a shared section for Links, Files, and even a Chat Room (which, as far as this group goes, hasn't ever been used that I know of). I will check and make sure that the Links and Files sections are available to members again; I had locked them down a while back because we had some people sneaking in and putting unacceptable things (ie, spam and prurient links) but I think we have that under control. I'm still trying to unmod people as they post so things will get busier as people quit lurking (HINT HINT!) Blessings, Crow PS: That is lovely to know that you are so well prepared in NLP. I know there are probably people here with questions. , " Joel P. Guest guest
Peace Be Unto You All! I sincerely appreciate the clarity that has come regarding my interest in NLP discussions on this list. To be very honest, when the initial response came from Joel about my introduction, some serious conditioning was triggered; I felt some really wild stuff! For example, I became very negative, not totally insane with it, but none the less real negative! Then, as the internal process continued, I struggled to shake the sarcastic and judgmental thoughts coming up in me about how my introduction was handled. Then, I began to review some of the posts and was greatly rewarded by the prior series on chakras, which helped me move my thinking. I believe and experience how gratitude and appreciation for something can do that, refocus me. Finally, I saw the latest posts that vindicated my statement of interest about NLP discussions here. Now, you have to know that really felt nice, yet I still prefer that I would not have allowed myself to be triggered in the first place. I did not expect to gain a full education on NLP via posts, just healthy chats to feed my curiosity and guide my need to connect it to my own striving toward whole wellness. However, I really would have preferred to have not taken that negative emotional ride in the first place, regardless of how my introduction was handled. How is that for sparking a discussion? I don't know how classic what I went through is, but it certainly was unpleasant and frustrating. My goodness, it was just a post, just some alphabets in an email -- no sounds, sights, smells! But, oh boy, was I triggered! Does anyone here have any suggestions about how to honestly disconnect from such rides, not intellectually, but in real time? Have I now triggered anyone? ;-) Peace! This is within the realm of NLP, which is usually defined as " the study of the structure of subjective experience. " Whether you consider it " intellectual " or something else, you (and others) have to do certain things in your mind to have the emotional response known as " being triggered. " Emotions don't just simply occur. You have to do certain things in your mind for them to happen--make pictures or say something to yourself. The things you are doing may be below (or outside of) your conscious awareness, and they may happen very quickly. One of the really fun things to do when you are learning NLP is to experiment with the images and sounds in your head. Take pictures you normally show yourself and move them closer and farther away, move them left and right, turn their brightness up, and turn it down. Notice how each movement influences the way you think and feel about the pictures. Do the same things with sounds. If you have a nagging voice in your head, move it down to the big toe on your left foot. Change the sound so that it speaks like Daffy Duck. Note if you can feel the same way about it. Once you have your internal geometry mapped out, run those things that used to trigger you through the process, just for fun. See if you can try in vain to get those old feelings back. ______________________________ Joel P.
