Guest guest
Hello, I am a new member. I am hoping to get some information on alternative treatments for nodes on the thyroid. Apparently nodes are very common and often benign. My needle biopsy results were inconclusive and the endocrinologist recommends removing the node because it's increased in size over the year. Removal also means removing part of my thyroid. I have no interest in invasive surgery especially when there's a less than 10% chance it's malignant. Does anyone have any experience with this or successful results with shrinking the node? Thank you for any information you may have. Guest guest
Hi Carol, The thyroid gland is part of the throat chakra. This means it is about communication. How do you speak your truth? It is also about metabolism and the way the body expends it's energy, where it chooses to use energy. Women sometimes experience thyroid problems when their babies are starting to grow up (around 40 years of age). They have to rethink where best to expend their creative energies now that their babies are no longer so dependent upon them. The yoga movement " the lion " , which is roaring as load as possible is one way of activating the throat chakra. On a physical level it goitre can indicate a problem with iodine metabolism or intake. You do not say what effect the goitre is having upon your metabolism so I must speak in general terms and this information does not negate the need for proper qualified medical advice. When the thyroid gland is under active it is recommended that foods high in iodine be avoided, this means plants from the cabbage family (broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, Chinese greens etc) and uncooked tofu and soy, seafood amongst other things. In the case of an over active thyroid these foods should be increased in the diet. Kelp and seaweed is generally understood to have a normalising effect on the thyroid gland and can be taken for either condition. Guest guest
I am dealing with this problem right now along with Hashimoto's and Hypothyroidism. The Holistic Nurse Practitioner that I see put me on iodine(Sea Kelp by KAL)to shrink the lump on my thyroid. Check out the link below and order the Book, " Iodine:Why you need it and why you can't live without it " . Guest guest
Dear Carol, Pl. check out Homeopathy and also Reiki. Part removal of thyroid may not be a big problem. But surgery may not be needed, if malignancy is ruled out. Since the test was inconclusive, get it repeated in a different lab. Don't neglect.
