I got this from a friend and thought it very interesting. Scary what some of

these common items contain!

Gail

*Common Household Toxins* 7:23 AM

*- LIQUID BLEACH - DANGER! (Less than a teaspoonful can kill an adult) -

Causes severe eye injuries. Can damage mouth, throat and stomach. Vapors

irritate the nose, throat and lungs.

- TOILET BOWL CLEANER - DANGER! - Contains hydrochloric acid which is highly

corrosive. Burns the skin, mouth and throat. Causes blindness.

5,000 people visit emergency rooms each year with an aerosol can-related

injury.

headache, dizziness and fatigue.

- MOUTHWASH - CAUTION! - Eye, nose and throat irritant. Ingestion can lead

to dizziness and stupor. Most products contain 20% ethyl alcohol. Each year

a number of young children die from ingestion.

- COLOGNE/PERFUME - Most scents contain enough alcohol to harm and kill a

child after ingesting only a few swallows. Many ingredients can irritate the

skin and burn the eyes.

Now, the next section will deal with the LONG-TERMS RISKS presented by

chemical vapors released by the products in your home.

As you have seen, many cleaners are very dangerous. They are just as

dangerous when they are used properly and even when they are not being used

at all. Most products " outgas " chemical vapors that may produce profound

chronic harms.

One study found women who worked at home had a 54% higher cancer rate than

those who worked outside the home. Infertility is on the rise. Cancer in

children has risen 20% over the past two decades.

It is the number one killer of children by disease. The asthma rate has

tripled in children over the past twenty years. Asthma deaths in children

have increased 118% since 1980. ADD and learning disorders have skyrocketed

over the last twenty years.

All these conditions have been linked to chemicals in the home. In fact, one

study has linked 50% of all health problems to deteriorated indoor air

quality. Take a look at the products you use and the possible dangers you

are being exposed to. Consider how many different chemicals are in your

home's air and the potential danger of that " toxic cocktail. "

- LIQUID BLEACH - Vapors have been shown to interfere with brain function.

Vapors have been shown to aggravate heart conditions and asthma. Suspected

to affect reproductive system.

- TOILET BOWL CLEANER - Vapors have been shown to interfere with brain

function and produce asthma-like symptoms. Can cause muscle spasms, damage

to blood tissue and reproductive disorders.

- FURNITURE POLISH - Contains phenol, petroleum distillates, heavy naptha.

Repeated exposure have been linked to cancer, birth defects, heart, liver,

kidney and central nervous system (CNS damage.

- STAINLESS STEEL CLEANER - Contains methyl chloride, carbon dioxide.

Repeated exposure has been linked to central nervous system damage. Vapors

can induce heart attacks.

- AEROSOL DUSTING SPRAY - Propellants are butane and propane. Exposure can

cause central nervous system (CNS disorders. Can irritate lungs, triggering

asthma-like symptoms.

- OVEN CLEANER - Contains lye, ammonia. Fumes have damaged the lungs and

reproductive systems of laboratory animals. Can cause brain damage, kidney

damage and reproductive disorders.

- BRASS, COPPER, SILVER POLISH - Contains benzene, ammonia and petroleum

distillates. Possible harms include central nervous system (CNS disorders,

cancer and asthma-like symptoms.

- CARPET SHAMPOO - Contains 2-butoxy ethanol, formaldehyde,

perchlorethylene. Long-term harms include cancer, liver damage, kidney

damage, bone marrow damage, CNS disorders.

- CARPET STAIN REMOVER - Contains 2-butoxy ethanol, formaldehyde,

perchlorethylene. Long-term harms include cancer, liver damage, kidney

damage, bone marrow damage, CNS disorder.

- UPHOLSTERY STAIN REMOVER - Contains 2-butoxy ethanol, formaldehyde,

perchlorethylene. Long-term harms include cancer, liver damage, kidney

damage, bone marrow damage, CNS disorders.

- DISINFECTANT CLEANER - Contains phenol, 2-butoxy ethanol, formaldehyde.

Harms include cancer, CNS disorders, liver damage, reproductive disorders,

kidney damage.

- POWDERED BLEACH - Long-term exposure to dust can cause sensitivities,

chronic lung irritation and asthma-like symptoms.

- AEROSOL AIR FRESHENER - Contains butane, propane, ammonia, phenol and

formaldehyde. Linked to cancer, CNS damage, liver damage and tumors.

Wouldn't it be great if something natural will work!

Gail

(NewsTarget) A new study by the National Cancer Institute has revealed that

a seaweed extract called carrageenan can prevent human papillomavirus (HPV)

-- a sexually transmitted disease linked to cervical cancer -- from entering

human cells.

Researchers found that carrageenan -- derived from red algae -- strongly

inhibits HPV from attaching to human cells, which prevents it from entering

and infecting the cells. " We were floored by how much better it worked than

anything else we have tested, " said researcher John Schiller of the National

Cancer Institute <http://www.newstarget.com/National_Cancer_Institute.html>.

Carrageenan is already in use in sexual lubricants as a thickener, and

researchers hope to eventually develop the

seaweed<http://www.newstarget.com/seaweed.html>extract into an

inexpensive gel that could help curb the spread of

HPV <http://www.newstarget.com/HPV.html>, which infects 50 percent of

sexually active women between the ages of 18 and 22.

An inexpensive gel would compete with Merck's new HPV vaccine called

Gardasil. An influential U.S. advisory panel recently advised all 11- and

12-year-old girls to be vaccinated with Gardasil, which is nearly 100

percent effective against the most dangerous strains of HPV. However, the

three-course Gardasil vaccination costs $360, which many people cannot

afford, especially in developing countries.

The researchers said carrageenan was shown to somewhat affect HIV and

herpes, but that genital HPV was a thousand times more susceptible to the

seaweed extract. While Gardasil comes with possible side effects including

pain, swelling, erythema (redness of the skin), pruritus (itching) and

fever, carrageenan is widely used in baby formula as a thickener, and is

completely safe to ingest.

http://www.hystersisters.com/

The mission statement of HysterSysters.com states that it is “a woman to woman support website for hysterectomy recovery. . . .The Hyster Sisters site is neither anti-hyst nor pro-hyst, rather, it is an online community of women who give and receive support for hysterectomy decisions and recovery.” In keeping with this mission, the site provides message boards, chat rooms, support, prayer requests, pull-down menus that provide answers to ‘frequently asked questions,’ forums, humor, ‘bedtime stories’ and much needed sisterhood at the time when women facing hysterectomies are dealing with complex emotional and health issues. If you’re not a hysterectomy candidate, you’ll find information on hormone replacement therapy and other female issues. Should you ever need such support, here is the site to have your heart lifted in challenging times. Even guys will appreciate the clever presentation of the ‘Minnie Pauz’ posting and link. In the words of the r who

recommended the site, “A beautiful community!”
