Guest guest
Mention of Patch Adams in the posts about humour and seriousness .... I never saw the film, but I did see Patch Adams - he came to a conference in Manchester (UK) about health. Talk about Messianic! Everyone there was ready to chuck everything and follow this man back to his Silly Hospital, or go with him to war zones dressed as clowns, to disrupt the conflict. Seriously funny man. The audience was shrieking with laughter and streaming tears - often at the same time. The man uses humour - physical, visual and verbal - but his passion and compassion were right up front. If I end up dying of something, bags I get to die in his hospital. If you ever get a chance to hear Adams speak, or to work with him, even for a day - take it. Anat - he's the perfect example of someone who takes his work with the utmost seriousness - in the silliest way possible. Talk about feel-good... in awe Arabella
