Guest guest
Hi, Angie, Like you, I'm loving this group too. My girlfriend and I are particularly interested in the healing properties of crystals. She's read quite a few books on the topic, and I'll get her opinion on which she deems to be the best. In the meantime, is anyone here interested in divining techniques like Tarot, or Numerology? Guest guest
Hi Angie - Have you checked out all of the information in the Files section? Lots of good info there, as well as another online site, Over the Rainbow, which also sells crystals, they have lots of great information. If you read through everything on this site or the other that I mentioned, you'll have at least as much information that is covered in many books, probably more. If you're just getting started I like Crystal Enlightenment by Katrina Raphaell, Crystal Wisdom by Dolfyn, or Color and Healing - I think that's the title - by Joy Gardner. I know lots of people have started out with Healing Stoned as well. It's hard to say sometimes, as every book I've read has had some bits of information that I haven't found anywhere else, they all seem to build on one another to create an ever expanding pool of knowledge. Also check out your local library, they may have a few there, and you can also use the Interlibrary Loan program to request any of the ones I mentioned from another library so you can read them first and see which ones you really like! Guest guest
Dear Lawrence, Hi there...I have been wanting to say hi as I have read yours and others e-mails lately but have been the happy slave to a busy schedule. I wanted to say that I am the author of a divination deck called the Jewels of the Lotus Tibetan Gemstone Oracle. Like tarot and numerology it has a very definite system that is based on healing through the seven main chakras, the five elements and the Tibetan Path of Mindfulness (using the 5 Platonic Solids) and the energies of crystals. It is simpler than it sounds but is a teaching tool and was the recipient of the Coalition of Visionary Retailers Award. I do not know where you live but I do classes internationally. My work is different than what is being presented today in that my focus is creating a bridge from the folk-lore and metaphysical wisdom to the science and basic cosmic mission of each stone based on their mineral and metal contents. It is a big study with wide open potentials but I believe it is imperitaive to create a level of clarity for us within the crystal world. It does not serve us to see completely different meanings from book to book. Peggy and our Spagyric Medicine Man whose name right now escapes me, already work from that place. Anyways you are a medicine man as well and I thought you might embrace some of this . Divination, Numerology and Tarot apart from crystal work is on topic for the practicalmystic2 list practicalmystic2/ I really like the Jewels of the Lotus Tibetan Gemstone Oracle and am delighted that Dawn Silver is sharing her unique wisdom and experience here. Guest guest
Hi, Concerning scrying and divination. Looking into the future can be a two edged sword. I generally recommend looking in depth into the past and present as a means of creating and manifesting a better future. For example, for one client of mine in whose horoscope I saw strong indications of fertility problems I used scrying and other methods to identify ways of overcoming this problem. It's better to learn from the past and present to find ways of overcoming problems than accepting them as " this is what fate will bring me " and thus manifesting those problems. Guest guest
Ok, I know this is a little OT Just to clarify a point here... Scrying and divination seems to be seen by too many people as " looking into the future " .. which, strictly speaking, it is not... when I do readings I look into past, present and future... and I dont believe in the fairground " fortune telling " of the movies... (where the death card ALWAYS comes up... notice that??? lol). I do it to help people with problems, usually, and there are often various outcomes and choices the querant can make... it is a helping and healing tool... and as Alisa says, a two-edged sword. One has to be carefull of how to interpret the readings so the querant has the choice to choose the path to take and not just believe in the reading nilly-willy and accept it as fate... To keep this ON topic... I have a wonderful crystal that Fabeku ID'd for me... but I cannot remember what it was...(need some Haemitite badly, lol)... that is a wonderful scrying tool. I gaze into it and it shows me the most amazing things... She (yes she) goes with me wherever I go, in her special pouch around my neck... I also have a large tear-drop clear quartz crystal with a fairy and a dragonfly inside which I have made a special basket for and she is also hung around my neck... she is my protector and energiser... and the fairy spirit inside and I have a wonderfull close relationship... I will try to take a picture and upload it... she is just so beautiful. BB Zephyr On 07/05/06, Alisa Levy <bareket57 wrote: > > Hi, > Concerning scrying and divination. Guest guest
Hi, Each crystal is a library of information. From my experience whenever I attempt to get specific focused information from a crystal, e.g. an answer to a specific question it won't comunicate with me - but whenever I ask generally what message have you got for me now then I get a flow of information. I get the best results when I use the crystal to open my Hebrew Bible and then read the message between the lines. Crystals are also a marvelous tool for intuitive writing. Guest guest
Hi Cherie, I'm glad to hear that you're interested in Tarot!!! It's a great tool for divining, and not only that, but it's also a great tool for discovering a lot about your past lives as well!!! If you're interested, Cherie, my girlfriend is running a course, whereby you can learn more about the Tarot, AND NUMEROLOGY. There's a link between them, and in fact, there's a link with all forms of divining and meta-physical energies. This link is revealed in my girlfriends course. e-mail me if you're interested, lawrence_law65 Thanks everyone, Lawrence Law (BPharm) Pharmacist & USANA Business Associate www.pharmacist.usana.com lawrence_law65 +61 404 203 890 +61 2 4920 7370 venus2578 wrote: In a message dated 5/1/2006 11:39:24 PM Eastern Daylight Time, lawrence_law65 writes: In the meantime, is anyone here interested in divining techniques like Tarot, or Numerology? Guest guest
This list is for discussion of the bodyHi Carolyn---First Happy Birthday! I'm glad you took the reins to get this list going again. I've been a bodywork listserve member for years and used to occassionally post to that list though I now I've been a lurker for several years. Carolyn, I miss Mani's posts and am sorry for the loss of your wonderful partner. Whe I'm lurking on the bodywork list, I look for Carl Brown's posts---Carl your posts have helped me to increase and refine my skills. You have helped point me directions that I hadn't even thought of----so thanks and I'm glad to see you on this list. I'm Sherri and many years ago I found this group through the bodywork group. I've been a lurker here for years and have never posted to this group. I'm interested in energy work but until recently, it's never been the main focus of my work. I've been a massage therapist for 12 years and mainly work with clients with chronic pain issues. Even though I had the first reiki attunement back in 1993 and I can feel pain and emotion in the body, I haven't focussed much on the energetic aspect of bodywork----until this past year. One of the things I've done since I started doing bodywork is to continually remind myself as I work with a client to pay attention to what I feel and to pay attention to what's going on in the clients body. Over the years my skills have refined and developed. Today, not only have my palpation skills increased and developed, now I often see and feel energetic releases even on more subtle levels. Last year I started training with Don McCann in Structural Energetic Therapy. I'm halfway done with the training and leave on Monday for Denver for the 4th of the 6 training sessions. It's amazing work and is exactly what I was looking for---it's structural work, it helps with chronic pain issues and it helps to open up and release emotional issues. I also am interested in Matrix Energetics. I bought the book and have been to their website many times. The training is coming to Chicago in April and since I'm in northern Illinois, I'm seriously thinking of taking the training. Has anyone had any training or experience with Matrix Energetics? So Hi Everyone! I hope to have some interesting discussions with the group. Sherri
