I am new to the group

Here is my intro from my website

www.MINDwell.co.nz

I am partic interested in treating stress anxiety depression with NLP

-- no drugs

A new one for a Dr eh!!!

Hi My name Is Eddie Barnett -- Welcome to a service where you can

achieve what you really want in life, simply by being pointed in the

right direction, with tools that can help remove the blocks to progress.

The things that stop us from succeeding in our goals are not usually

external, but are subconscious beliefs in our own minds that say " we

can't do it " .

Lots of people want to stop smoking, lose weight, relax, meet their

own needs first, but can't seem to either start, or maintain the

habits necessary for long-term change.

I have practised medicine for 20yrs and have seen people who know the

risks of not changing their lifestyle. They suffer the consequences

eventually, simply because the dynamics of change behaviour is not

understood.

Success in any plan to change requires looking at long term beliefs,

acceptance of fears around self-image, and a focused strategy on

achieving goals. Simply restricting calories to lose weight is not

enough, for example.

My particular interest is life coaching around stress, anxiety, and

depression. All three result from the conflict we have about what we

want to be deep down, yet cannot achieve.

In other words we continually do what we don't want, continually want

what we don't need, and end up judging ourselves for the results we get.

All of this can change, but it often needs the guidance and support

of an experienced coach or therapist to get started.

I have studied lifestyle change in my own life, as well as in my

medical practice, and other mental health settings. I think I can

offer more than what traditional medicine provides, or can provide,

under that model. Change requires the practicing of new modes of

thinking, and a new perspective on our purpose and relationships.
